A French skydiver’s hope to set a new free-fall record has been dealt another setback — his ride to the sky left without him.
The helium balloon that Michel Fournier, 64, was going to use to soar to the stratosphere detached from the capsule he was going to use to jump from 130,000 feet.
It happened as the balloon was being inflated on the ground at the airport in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. The balloon drifted away into the sky without the capsule.
We noted his preparations over the weekend. Obviously, his checklist didn’t include being certain the balloon was hooked up.
Michael Fournier is younger than John McCain.
Well, if he is that prepared in the first place, then I would definitely doubt his free falling abilities as he might have forgotten his parachute.
Wow… Even French balloons run away.
here come the lame jokes about the french -.-
Wonder if he’d’ve wound up over the rainbow.
😉
J/P=?
#4 igor – That was more a lame Monty Python joke than a lame French joke.
Mac Guy;
I may be drunk, but I’m pretty sure Saskatchewan is not in France.
SKL
#7 – the skydiver was French. He was not given permission to do the dive in France, thus Canada.
#4 – I believe the French joke has already occurred. More of an interesting observation when done in advance.
Wait for meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee………
Seriously, I’d take all these failures as a sign to give up!
Ooopps
Talk about bad luck
