“Police knocked at the door and asked if there was a baby in the apartment,” Const. Fanning told reporters at a news conference. He said the 23-year-old mother was found nursing a seven-day-old baby.Among the four adults in the apartment was the baby’s father, also in his 20s. The couple were initially arrested for questioning about the ad. “They said it was just a hoax,” Const. Fanning explained. The father, who placed the ad using a computer found in the apartment, was taken to jail. Police sent a report to Crown recommending a charge of public mischief, but the Crown didn’t feel there was enough evidence to support the charge, he added. The baby was taken from the couple by a social worker and placed in care, Const. Fanning said.
What ever happened to that famous British / Canadian Humor?
What exactly is wrong with selling your kiddies? Seems to me someone doesn’t trust the free market.
You have parents not wanting their kids making money from people who do want kids and are willing to pay for them.
Much better than current system of parents who don’t want kids giving them to the State and the State spending tax dollars in support==or finding foster parents who are interested in making money by caring for kiddies (more tax dollars) or adoption==finding parents too poor to buy kiddies.
Doesn’t make any sense in our capitalistic system.
They should have listed it as crotch fruit. You can just imagine the feedback on eBay – Great Seller! Would do business again! AAA+++
If the parents are so f*#ked up that they posted something like that on Craig’s List the baby probably would have been much better off if the cops just let the sale go through.
Does Sound A Bit Like A Monty Python Skit, Ay?
I guess it would be a bit mean to jack into my neighbors wi-fi and see if the cops around here react the same way. 😉

You have to ask with this being the previous item?:
“Canada’s foreign minister resigns. Classified documents left behind in biker babe’s bedroom”
RBG
What has this got to do with the British? The RSS feed declares it to be a British couple. “journalism”?
Perhaps John Dvorak could try writing some articles himself. It’s hardly a blog.
[We don’t “write” them. We just pass them along… and John posts quite a few. – ed.]
If its famous Canadian humour you are looking for, then look no farther;
BC does not stand for “British Columbia”, it stands for “Billions of Chinese”.
Seriously, come visit sometime, just *try* to ask somebody for the time.
P.S. Brush up on your Cantonese before you do, you’re going to need it.
Wow. Are people stupid. Just kidding? Really? It was just a hoax? Can you day moron? Not the sharpest tool in the shed that’s for sure.. I won’t be posting an offer.. Ha Ha Ha!! LOL
