Officials were keeping passengers from leaving the train, said Steve Trinier, the director of ambulance services in the area.

The train was being held in the station in the town of Foleyet, 500 miles northwest of Toronto. The station was evacuated.

As many as 10 people were ill with flu-like symptoms. The illnesses appeared to be contained to two cars on the train of 269 passengers and 30 crew members. One person was taken to hospital and is in stable condition, Trinier said.

Trinier said they didnt know the cause of the illnesses yet.

Canadian Rail officials say the train is leaving tonight – completing the run to Toronto.

Story – so far – is about 3 coincidental events that scared the hell out of rail managers. Probably a positive.

    The train is now underway.
The latest news release is that the woman who died did not have an infectious disease. Nor did the one passenger who was airlifted to hospital. Of the five remaining “sick” people on the train, none have fever nor breathing difficulties. it sounds as if the illnesses are NOT train related.

Was Dr. Shiro Zama on that train?

Turns out it was just another old lady checking out. Happens every day everywhere. Must have been a slow news day.
It funny how the Cops/health people over react to everthing these days.

One person smells something and the next thing you know everyone smells it and you have breathing problems and a rush to see who can get to the hospital first.

If old ladies dying caused a panic like that everywhere my wife would have a hell of a problem. They die at her place almost everyday…..not a hospital.

When a bus accident happens in a US city like Philly, the bus suddenly has more passengers with sprained necks than when it first collided. I’m wondering if a similar mentality was a work here?

nothing to do with frivolous lawsuits. This is the new normal after the SARS outbreak a few years ago. First signs of trouble it’s quarantine time.

Fortunately a false alarm this time.
