This is an extremely clever Rube Goldberg setup.

    Very cool!!

  3. Flavio says:

    Hey John!

Sorry for my crankiness, but all this to sell a rack to store printing rolls?

130k people saw this cool video on Youtube. How many of them actually bought this thing? What’s the size of the market of this thing? Does it really worth to spend that amount of money to produce a movie like this to generate buzz with the wrong public, or at least a public much larger than your actual target?

For me it’s like a surgical blades manufacturer advertising their products at People, or Businessweek.

    See ya!

  5. admfubar says:

well one thing is certain….. there isn’t any chaos (or cha s! as it is spelled on the one sheet),
if your shop is so dead that you can build this you need a new profession..
(yeah i know it is an ad), maybe this guy when into marketing…..hhhmm

  6. hhopper says:

Flavio – Let’s see… this video has already had over 122,500 views. If only 1% of the viewers have something to do with a printing facility, that’s 1,125 people who’ve seen the ad. That’s why you see every type of ad on the Internet. There’s a lot of money to be made.

  7. Fake bobbo says:

This is all a grand display, but what about the social applications of such engineering as it relates to the ratio of parts to the user. These guys obviously have to much time on their hands and as such need government programs to right their ways of mischievousness.

The repukes will whine but more taxes need to be collected because even though in half my other posts I whine about government inefficiency and waste, I stupidly believe that more government involvement and more government waste is exactly what is needed here. Programs that train the youth of america for the future run by inefficient government people will increase taxes so then I will be happy, it is not your money it is my latest pet peeve money, That is the important thing to remember.

While my solutions may seem idiotic, you are mistaken because they are.

Dang ya’ all (I’m in Indiana this week, pardon my hillbilly accent) Fake bobbo hit the nail on the pootie. Eyes’a needs to’s get his right gud thinkin’ on bored with my campaign. Obama is a commie!

  9. SJP says:

OFF TOPIC. I apologize for being off topic. I rarely read the “Poll” listed on the right side of the screen. I did just know and learned the poll questions why you haven’t switched from iTunes to Amazon MP3. Is market research for Amazon really a “Poll”?

  10. 888 says:

    great!

  11. Saper says:

And you wonder why you cannot get proper service for your printing needs correctly and on time ?

  12. Ron Larson says:

I find that I don’t know or remember what product was being advertised in most clever ads. For example, the Trunkmonkey Series. Funny as hell. But I no know what it was for.

So what I do is consider clever/funny ads, like this one, simply as sponsored micro-entertainment.

The reality is that the more irritating ads actually do a better job of getting people to recognize a product name. Think of the “Press directly to head” ads.

  13. hhopper says:

For me, the irritating ads make me hate the name and vow never to use the product.
