Political Science at the University level tells you that the President of the USA sets the moral tone for the country. This is George Bush’s legacy. Clinton made rampant oral sex a trend. While the Clinton legacy is more fun, Bush gives us more to blog about. Bush rocks! |
FBI Director Robert Mueller disclosed that his agency has shifted much of its focus to combat public corruption since it is rampant nationwide. He pointed out that in the past two years alone nearly 20,000 public officials have been convicted.
While some cases are high-profile because they feature prominent politicians in major cities or big states, many of the public corruption probes include small-town officials or public employees that have none the less cheated taxpayers or endangered their communities.
Recent examples include nearly two dozen officials from a small North Carolina sheriff’s office guilty of drug conspiracy, racketeering and fraud; a Georgia state legislator guilty of laundering proceeds from the sale of cocaine and nearly 70 military and law enforcement personnel in Arizona who accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes in exchange for smuggling drugs, money and illegal immigrants into the U.S.

I don’t know John. I did a search for oral sex blogs and found a lot of hits.
If Hillary gets elected, I wonder if there will be a surge in cunnilingus.
I don’t know. Including cops as part of Public Corruption kinda skews the result doesn’t it?
Maybe more to the point, “Public” kinda implies “Public Officials” or those having the “Publics Trust.” I don’t think that has EVER included cops when it comes to drugs or department mandated traffic fines?
I’d like to see the numbers without the cops. But it does all symbolically start at the top.
Why hasn’t Bush been impeached==just to keep McCain in line? Add lack of enforcement to lack of transparency to the proof of America’s Government doesn’t work.
I like the article, but the title is a bit misleading.
As we have discussed in this blog a number of times, there is a difference between an actual rise in crime and a rise in reported crime. According to this article, “(FBI) reveals that there has been an unheard of 50% increase in public corruption probes”…”Robert Mueller disclosed that his agency has shifted much of its focus to combat public corruption since it is rampant nationwide.”
The article is not saying that public corruption is MORE rampant nationwide, in fact it doesn’t draw any historical conclusions whatsoever. It just points out that the FBI is finally focusing on corruption.
George W. Bush nominated and pushed for the confirmation of Robert Mueller. The previous head of the FBI, Louis J. Freeh, was nominated by Clinton.
So, in fact, when Mueller took the reigns, he diverted the resources of the FBI to fighting corruption, where it should of been all along.
So, what political corruption did he find?
“Recent cases that received more national media coverage include a Louisiana congressman (William Jefferson) [A Democrat] caught with a $90,000 cash bribe in his freezer, a Detroit mayor (Kwame Kilpatrick) [another Democrat] who settled a multi million-dollar lawsuit and lied under oath to hide an extramarital affair with a city employee, a Newark mayor (Sharpe James) [ANOTHER Democrat] convicted for getting his young mistress heavily discounted public property and an ousted presidential cabinet member (HUD Secretary Alphonso Jackson) [A Republican – Finally!] who gave his friends lucrative government contracts.”
Could it be that Bush did something right in nominating Mueller?
I guess public sector salaries around the World, are struggling to keep up with the rising costs of living.
I think this spike in corruption convictions has little to do with “the moral tone” set by the President or anyone else. Here in my home state of Connecticut the governor and the mayors of two cities have been convicted of corruption. The governor and one mayor were life long politicians who used their positions to solicit bribes. The other mayor was convicted of a sex crime involving children and is serving a life sentence.
When the governor and the mayor were trolling for bribes I don’t think they thought about the moral tone of the country for one second, they were simply greedy. As for what the other mayor did…he is an extremely sick person who also didn’t think about any “moral tone”.
I blame the Flying Spaghetti Monster.. and there is probably the same amount of evidence for it or Bush. Get a grip John. Blaming this on GWB is stupid. Why not the UN. Or Starbucks (they’ve gotten more popular in the last 7 years). Or Crispy Creme donuts… which is probably the best bet of all.
Hey, why stop at blaming all corruption in the US on the President? There’s plenty of corruption in other countries that can be blamed on Bush. It is not like blaming Bush for everything requires logic.
Why hasn’t Bush been impeached? Cause that whould make Dick C. prez?

Impeach his ass too. That leaves Pelosi. Impeach her ass too, contributing to the delinquency of a country for failing to impeach (she’s such a stool). Next in line is Sen. Robert Byrd, former KKK “Exalted Cyclops” can’t impeach him I don’t think, but until he appoints a VP, the in-effect VP is Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. Karma is a funny thing ain’t it Senator Byrd.
This isn’t looking good. The impeachment tool seems to have been removed from effective use.
It’s not hard to find “Public Corruption” when the Repukes are STEALING IN ALL DIRECTIONS !!! Need more investigations into the Pentagoon and the Defense Corporate CESSPOOL !!! Especially Federal Funds to PRIVATE ARMIES LIKE BLACKWATER !!! The STEALING IS IN THE BILLIONS, so the Feds go after Nickle and Dime locals !!! MORE DERELICTION OF DUTY ON BUSH’S PART !!!

Its not just Repukes, open your eyes. The revolving door between the pentagon and defense corporations is legal, both parties voted those rules/laws into play, in fact the democratic controlled congress has signed off on every single dollar. The money going to Blackwater and others is all perfectly legal under the current setup.
Whats lacking is any kind of integrity by the people running the government. They all, republicans, democrats and independents, are gaming the system for their own benefit. Its called being inside the beltway.
Sorry I blamed your precious democrats also but don’t confuse that with supporting the republicans. If it looks like crap, smells like crap, and runs like crap then well guess what you just got crapped on.
None-of-the-Above needs to run in all major elections, he/she stands an excellent chance at getting elected. Wouldn’t cost a dime either.
Is that the new GWB Stamp?
I have first hand experience in this (pun not intended)!! Used to be a small town government reporter and the county judge had a DUI the day I called in to get the police blotter…what fun!
If you think corruption’s on the rise (pun intended!), turn to the state of Louisiana for PC 101. They invented it and has been going on for years and years everywhere…it’s just now more widely reported because we have more “reporters” on the case…the Internet!
I say: Bring back the guillotine and let them drink Starbucks!!
