Two days after stealing a rare coin collection, an alleged thief in Germany took his loot to a bank for safe-keeping — and ended up handing the coins to the very man he’d stolen them from.

The stunned bank teller, an avid coin collector, recognized the coins as being the same set that had been stolen from his house and called police, said Saskia Schneider, a police spokesman for the western German city of Dortmund…

Police said the 36-year-old man recently broke into the home of the coin collector in Dortmund and made off with coins worth 50,000 euros ($80,000).

“He had two days to be happy about it,” she said, before he decided to deposit the coins for safe-keeping.

Karma, dude…

If I had just stolen rare coins, I would have rented a safety box. That’s where I put everything I steal–just like everybody else.

Reminds me of the story of a guy who stole a fresh cheque book from somebody’s mail slot (apparently it wasnt pushed all the way through).

When the man tried to pass off a cheque at a bank, it turned out that the teller he was dealing with was the woman he stole the cheques from.

    Funny how that happens sometimes…

In the city where I live a man stole a Buddha statue from a woman’s front lawn. Then when he went to show his apartment, guess who was a prospective tenant? She looked around and promptly called the police.

A Buddha statue?…. asking for Karma!
