Dr. Phil Bonds The Ringleader

A bondsman says TV’s Dr. Phil has posted $30 thousand bond for the ringleader of the eight Lakeland teens accused of kidnapping and beating a girl in front of a video camera. Some parents had complained earlier this week that they could not afford the high bond set by the judge. However, six of the eight were out of jail Saturday. All eight teens face kidnapping and battery charges. Kidnapping carries a penalty of up to life in prison. It’s believed Mercades Nichols will be talking about the case on his nationally syndicated show soon.

Of course she will, but I won’t be watching.

UPDATE: tampabay.com

At one point, McGraw had planned an episode of the “Dr. Phil” show about Spears, but quickly abandoned the idea. He has since apologized for discussing his visit publicly — but not for going to see her.

  1. Jägermeister says:

    Anything for ratings.

  2. snifner says:

    What a complete jackass.

    /me pulls his advertising dollars..

  3. Knuckles says:

That man should never have been on TV.

  4. Sean O'Hara says:

Thank you, Oprah, for giving this jackass a national audience.

  5. Improbus says:

From the moment I first heard him speak I KNEW he was an ass … an Oprah sized ass.

  6. bobbo says:

I like Phil. He has said two things that changed my view of my ability to control my quality of life.

    1. “Hows that working out for you.” /// Nothing like a cold dose of reality to questions ones actions???

    2. “Do you want to be right, or xyz” /// Once again, reality. Always nice to expressly rank one’s priorities.

Now, will making a tv show always tarnish a person. I could only ask Dr Phil “Hows it working out for you?”

  7. fahrquar says:

In his infinite(cough)wisdom he must feel that Miss Spears is the real victim here. I guess the real statement here is that white trash must help white trash no matter how wrong they are.

  8. Mister Mustard says:

“Mercades”? wtf kind of a name is “Mercades”? Were her parents trying to spell “Mercedes”, but they didn’t know how to read or write?

  9. Mr. Catshit says:

    It’s the ratings stupid !!!

  10. SJP says:

Who’s the bigger scumbag here: Dr. Phil or the Ringleader we all want to knock into next week?

  11. Glenn E. says:

With Oprah it’s one crazy white dude after another, she’s back. Tom Cruise, that nortorious author (whose book was a fraud), McGraw, and now Travola and his aging 707. Should any well used plane, built 40 years ago, still be flying? And what sane man would fly such a relic? Well I quess when the engines fall off of it, the rank and file of scientology will all throw themselves on the ground beneath the craft to cushion his fall.

Let’s face it. Oprah picks crazy white dudes because she likes the fallout from her mostly white audience, when she’s sells them on her wisdom of discovering their next profit. Oprah is a regular John the Baptist, she is.

  12. Greg Allen says:

I watched Dr. Phil once and only once for about five minutes.

No kidding… the big tub-o-lard was scolding someone for being overweight!

That’s all I needed to know that this blowhard is a fraud.

  13. Steve-O says:

#12 Glenn E. – DC-3s are still flying and they are a lot older than 40 years. With proper inspections, care and feeding there isn’t anything wrong with the 707.

  14. moe29 says:

I thought the judge issued a Gag Order on everyone involved in the trial. What’s he going to talk to her about if he does get her on the air?

What a scumbag – but then, i wouldn’t expect anything more or less from daytime TV.

  15. oil of dog says:

Bullshit and platitudes packaged properly will sell, proof, he made 90 mil last year.

  16. Steve-O says:

I watched his show for about 30 minutes last Thursday about some guy who wanted to write a novel and didn’t want to work. Dr Phil said well I have written a bunch of best sellers and did it all while working.

All he did was try to pump himself up. I didn’t hear much to help the guy other than get a job. Maybe he said something worthwhile after I stopped watching it.

  17. Phillep says:

Bail was set high because the judge thought the bitches were a danger to the public. Too bad any of them got bailed out.

  18. Mr. Catshit says:

    #18,

Bail was set high because of the publicity.

  19. LtJackboot says:

You folks DO know he’s not a doctor, don’t you? He doesn’t have a doctorate degree of any kind. He’s just a personality that is spoon-fed common sense solutions to normal, everyday life issues. You could all come up with his answers yourselves eventually.

  20. Jägermeister says:

    #20 – LtJackboot

He has a Ph.D., so yes, he’s a doctor. And he agree openly that his advices are mostly common sense. And no, I don’t usually watch his shows.

  21. TotallyDumbFounded says:

All Phil is doing is condoning such brutal behavior. He doesn’t even deserve to have the prefix Mr. and/or Doctor. A Doctors first oath is “Do no harm”. Maybe he needs to review his “ethical” guideline to be named Doctor. I am disgusted to know that such a high profiled “celebrity” would step in and help the “ring leader” of such a vicious act.
Why couldn’t he have stepped up and helped the victim? Oh wait I know, the R A T I N G S! What a shame.

  22. NavyWings says:

Dr. Phil said he was unaware of the bailout by his producer. Right. His producers can cut a $30K check without his knowledge? I doubt it.
