I am transgender, legally male, and legally married to Nancy. Unlike those in same-sex marriages, domestic partnerships, or civil unions, Nancy and I are afforded the more than 1,100 federal rights of marriage. Sterilization is not a requirement for sex reassignment, so I decided to have chest reconstruction and testosterone therapy but kept my reproductive rights. Cool….. I am tempted to wonder if the testosterone and that would affect the baby, but then I’d say the same thing about many of the fertility treatments. Still, top marks for them wiling try!

Incorrect, Pat, a transsexual man is a man. Gender is determined by our psychological makeup, not our physical sex. But, I understand it’s difficult for many to grasp, especially not being in that situation, but it’s true. If we were all just living brains sitting in jars with no physical senses, only the ability to think, we would still know whether we were male or female.
#6 – Too funny. Wishing something were so doesn’t make it so. I wish I were an F22 pilot. That isn’t determined by my psych make up. It is determined by reality. I could think I was an eagle, psych wise. Still wouldn’t be true. You have really bought this crap?
And now you know why sex “re-assignment” is such a crock.
Next we’ll have people who believe they are neither male nor female, or want to be an alien. Or is that like Michael Jackson & Prince?
If everything was healthy and normal then there wouldn’t be a need for psychologists and psychiatrists.

Good for them. If a happy and loving couple (no matter their sexual makeup, mm, mf, ff) are willing to accept the responsibility of a child, then more power to them. How many abandoned children of ‘traditional’ couples do we hear about, yet some backassed people think this is somehow wrong?
But don’t you know, there have been efforts at the UN to formally recognize 7 genders…
That will mean 7 washrooms, of course.
