China Opens World’s Largest Airport Terminal — Two Miles long! — I was in Beijing 12 years ago when the OLD airport was still operating. It was the last remnant of the Mao era. A couple of years later they tore it down and put up a brand new modern airport that apparently has already outlived its usefulness. Four years ago they began this project. These guys move extremely fast. This is now the world’s biggest building. It’s two miles long.

Two miles long?!? I don’t think people realize how long it takes to walk that far! I hope they have moving sidewalks that go at 20 mph!
Those week minded fools…they fell for the old Jedi DIA baggage sorting mind trick. Bwhahahaha I wonder if it runs on OS2 like DIA did. bwhahahaha
At that rate it would take six minutes to get from one end of the airport to the other.
The Chinese don’t want to attribute any of their “achivements” to foreigners, kind of like the quiet fact that their Shanghai Maglev Train is made by Germany.
#4 And all the planes that fly in are American, European or Russian.
And all pilots speak English.

We built your railways a hundred years ago
Didn’t anybody tell the architect: the planes land outside – no need for indoor parking!!
There is a fast speed train linking the three main buildings of the terminal 3.
John — the old air port (T1) was not torn down. It was renovated and is still in operations. It mainly only serves one air line (Southern Air).

Plans are being drawn up now for a new airport south of Beijing that will be needed in about 10 years 😉
Beijing is a nice city!
The T3 terminal is beautiful, luxurious even, and there is a fast shuttle to bring you to the gates. The whole security process is expedited in a very efficient manner, and the Chinese police is courteous.
