    Is that the Sahara?–could be with all that dirt. Looks like lenticular roll clouds which form downwind from mountain peaks which I don’t see in the photo, nature is variable like that.

    and yes, the rule of thirds was almost followed here. Note the false horizon of space is NOT dead center and the roll clouds are not dead center–so better picture as a result.
