This is ridiculous. A number of things immediately come to mind. First of all is this a cop or a meter maid? Look at his car and outfit. Also did he not notice the guy recording all this? What kind of a cop is so unaware?

    immediatly
    LOL

  2. Mike Wills says:

I like that very last part. “Is that Camera on? I better not find myself on u…” I assume YouTube finishes that sentence.

  3. TimW077 says:

I find it interesting that you cannot hear what the kid is saying that is pissing the cop off. Clearly the cop over reacted. You don’t need to throw a 14 year-old into a headlock and take his skateboard because he called you “dude.”

Unfortunately, cops don’t feel they get the respect they deserve, and they get bent out of shape. Which, in turn, makes people disrespect them more.

A few tips from the ACLU:
    * Be polite and respectful. Never bad-mouth a police officer.

    * Upon request, show them your driver’s license, registration and proof of insurance.

    * Stay calm and in control of your words, body language and emotions.

    * Don’t get into an argument with the police. Remember, anything you say or do can be used against you.

    * Keep your hands where the police can see them.

    * Don’t run. Don’t touch the police officer.

    * Don’t complain on the scene or tell the police they’re wrong or that you are going to file a complaint.

    * Remember officers’ badge and patrol card numbers.

    * If you feel your rights have been violated, file a written complaint with the police department’s internal affairs division or civilian complaint board.

Something tells me there is a reason that guy is on ticket patrol. He was unaware because he was bullying the kids with toys, just like the way people stare at him in his funny looking scooter. Boots in the ass make for two kinds of citizenry: 1) Adult children with broken spirits 2) Violent Bullies.

  5. julieb says:

Internet justice will prevail. This guy will be unemployed soon.

  6. michael says:

Ahhhh, I love cops who demand unwavering respect from citizens while treating them like garbage. “You will call me sir while I abuse you for no reason!”

  7. Froggmann says:

Is it me or did the statement “My name is officer Rivereri. The sooner you learn that the longer you will live.” sound like a death threat?

  8. JPV says:

Pfffttt… Skateboarders are all punk assholes that deserve to get beat down.

  9. Sir Doucheington III says:

Dood…. WTF is his problem? But he totally disrespected the badge. BS. This is why kids learn to hate cops.

  10. AdmFubar says:

welllllllllllllll this is certainly a canidate for a followup… wonder what happens to this guy next…
    i smell a lawsuit……….

  11. bubb says:

Looks like this kid just got his way through college paid for by the state.

  12. Mark T. says:

    Nice shorts, dude!

Sounds like a cop that got busted to meter maid and now has an attitude. Soon to be working at a mall near you!

  13. Esteban says:

#4 says “Boots in the ass make for two kinds of citizenry: 1) Adult children with broken spirits 2) Violent Bullies.”

    Officer Salvatore Rivieri is both.

  14. the Three-Headed Cat™ says:

Fucking loudmouth authoritarian douchewad. I see no weapon, no proper uniform or vehicle = not an actual police officer, rather some kind of “community service officer” or other such bullshit glorified rent-a-cop job that goes to those with insufficient intelligence or anger management skills to get into the police academy. He waaaay overstepped what little authority some fool gave him.

Go ahead – give him a gun and a badge that didn’t come out of a box of Cocoa Puffs. With that attitude and temper, his life expectancy on the streets of Baltimore could be measurable in not years but weeks, maybe days. And what a terrible loss to law enforcement THAT would be, huh? 🙂

  15. niko says:

This guy is a 17-year veteran of the force. This tells you his type are totally acceptable in the force. How else could he have been on the force 17 years? Furthermore, he’s obviously a total animal and a complete dipshit. He’s running girlie-blouse scooter-pussy duty. That’s cuz he’s a clumsy fool, not because he’s a menace to normal, peaceful children. Maybe they mouthed off? So what? That’s what kids do,

    ….. DUDE.

This is SO going to court.

“He was just like up in my face yelling at me. Then he tackled me,” Bush told WJZ-TV, “It was scary, because I have diabetes and my blood sugar went crazy ’cause he scared me.”

With that one statement, the kid has covered his ass on any allegation whatsoever of acting in a provocative way AND opened a can of expensive legal whoop ass on OberscharfĂĽhrer Rivieri.

  16. Ryan says:

    This is staged, right?

  17. niko says:

    @Ryan: Google “salvatore rivieri”

You wait. They’ll admit it was a staged recruitment stunt for the Baltimore PD.

    Oh, how we’ll laugh!

  18. Wightout says:

Is taking the skateboard from that kid in the manner he did so consider assault? I know I would think it was an attack. That guy is a heck of a lot bigger then those kids. the way in which he came at them was extremely aggressive. This guy is going to be in big trouble with his boss.

Surprised he didn’t go crazy trying to get a hold of the camera.

  19. the Three-Headed Cat™ says:

17 years and he hasn’t made it to where he can be trusted with a sidearm? I’d say that just about says it all. The clown car is just gravy. They probably let him take it home, too. Easier than arguing with him. 🙂

  20. Wightout says:

    Have to love his logic…

Address people by their full title or someone is gonna kill you!

  21. JPV says:

They got off easy as far as I’m concerned. Skateboarders are a menace to society and should be shot on sight.

  22. eddiebr says:

A Baltimore police officer shown on a YouTube video berating and roughly handling a skateboarder at the Inner Harbor has been suspended.

    http://www.wbaltv.com/news/15278243/detail.html

After he was suspended Monday, Rivieri said he had no comment.

“Paul Blair, head of the police union, had not seen the video but he warns that videos show only part of a story.”

My favorite part is: “had not seen the video but he warns that videos show only part of a story”

  23. Ah_Yea says:

Didn’t this guy work for the Florida Department of Corrections?

  24. peconi says:

He should be jailed! Scaring the poor kid like this is ridiculous and I bet highly traumatic for a 14 year old. No wonder when kids bring guns to school – he didn’t learn better from the “officer of law Rivieri” that’s for sure.

Props to the brave camera man who must also be 14 and still smart enough to keep it rolling! Good job kid!

  25. Wightout says:

    @#22

The story also said he didn’t know he was being recorded, but at the end of the video he clearly saw that he was (if not for the whole event then only for a little while).

  26. Thor says:

Officer Rivereri demands respect, looking like a bumblebee. Fat chance. The man is obviously a total ass i all respects. The way he get fired up over some 14 year olds on skateboard is anal retentiveness beyond imagination. Poor Baltimore for harboring such underachievers. Hope the guy gets his but kicked – and find himself behind bars.

  27. Badcam says:

Big Man with a little c……..ar!

  28. Jurjen says:

Does anyone know a company that can recover video files from a broken phone?
They can probably produce some interesting footage here and there…

  29. Props to the boy who kept his nerve and recorded it.
This is one of the reasons why some people in the UK are ok about CCTV. When you can’t do anything at the time, afterwards you can make sure that justice is served.
It doesn’t stop the reason why this excuse for a policeman lashed out at a child. Those are the things we have to look at next.
    Nice one lads.

  30. TIHZ_HO says:

I have seen shit like this in China only they’re not skateboarders but some idiot riding a bike where one is not meant to ride and also they tend to go at it from both sides. I call it “Chinese Traditional Street Drama”

Nice to see the US is the same as China or is that the other way around? HAR!

    Cheers
