Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama on Sunday beat two former US presidents, Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, when he picked up a Grammy Award in Los Angeles.
Obama, who is currently neck and neck with Hillary Clinton in the fierce battle for the Democratic party’s presidential nomination, won the music industry’s prize in the category for best spoken word album.
The freshman senator for Illinois was honored for his audio version of his book “The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream.”
It was Obama’s second Grammy, having won the same spoken word award in 2005 for his book “Dreams From My Father.”
For all of you who listen to books.
I’d think this award might be a little embarrassing for Mr. Obama.
He’s a politician and he got an award for reading and talking.
That’s change? W00t!
I nominate Hilliary Clinton for the Female Hebephrenic of the Year as demonstrated at every speech she gives.
[ hebephrenia – A type of schizophrenia characterized by foolish mannerisms, senseless laughter, delusions, hallucinations, and regressive behavior. – ed.]
To #1:
Reading and talking aren’t our current president’s strong points. So yeah, that’s change!
What #3 said.
#3 and #4
My error. You’re absolutely correct.
Still, this is like getting an award for walking and talking at the same time.
Oops! My error, again.
The Grammys are a way for lefties to award lefties. Take a look at the audio winners for the last decade or so.
I think Hillary should “accidentally” use the word “niggardly” in a speech to intentionally tank her campaign, so she have a reason to exit.
It would be an easy and clean exit and she could blame it on a poor choice of words, instead of continuing down what will be a slow and painful loss to Obama.
Obama is awesome!
He even opened on SNL, one saturday night. But I didn’t see him the rest of that evening. I wouldn’t mind him being the lead democratic candidate. But I believe that no matter what happens, the DNC will end up with the candidate that gets the republican elected. Again!
This guy is america’s next Hugo Chavez, believe me!!!
