Checks in the mail, it’s only a cold sore…
Oh my God it is a sign of the Apocalypse. Duke Nukem Forever is coming. Run to the hill, hide.I believe when I see it in stores.
Duke Nukem forever being released? This can’t be right, even the title tells us how long till we actually see it…
#3 – Ah_Yea – Duke Nukem forever being released?
Yep… it proves that there’s hope for world peace, democracy in China and a great U.S. President…
thing I wonder about is….last screenshots I saw (on its third developmental engine – quake, Unreal among them) looked pretty dang good for….11 years ago. if it’s going to be anything in today’s market, it’s going to have to push the limits on DX10 and the chipsets in the GF 8800/X360/PS3. I can’t wait to see more than a cheesy little teaser…
Is Johnny D. aware that all the sound effects and the open for these Tech 5 things make it sound like the worst AM radio show from 1978 ever produced? Confirmed: Dvorak has no taste.
Now, JohnBoi is a VaporwareWhore, too…
Who wants some! For the younger of you Duke Nukem 3D Was da bomb of a game for PC about 12 years ago, back when shareware was distributed on BBS’s. The first 2 commercially succesful 3d fps were Doom and Duke Nukem 3d. Hell My first business (a BBS) owed much of it’s success to the download of the Duke demo. Show some respect for the Duke! 3D realms have been more or less busy churning out games over the last decade and Duke’s been seen on Playstation. Have you tried PREY? Listen guys it’s a good bet it’ll be worth the wait, but if not, the hollywood version ought to be good – kickin the butts of aliens who come here to take our women –
3D FPS’s from the start
Catacomb Abyss, Castle Wolfenstein, Doom, Duke Nukem’ 3D, Rise of the triad, …
the beginning of a new breed of entertainment
#4 – Yep… it proves that there’s hope for world peace, democracy in China and a great U.S. President…
Really? Who is joining the race?
#8 – Have you tried PREY?
Yes. I tried Prey… It was a game that was announced in 1997 and was slated to release not too long after the original Half Life. When it finally did reach shelves, 10 years a few too many iterations later, it turned out to be yet another run and gun linear shooter with little to distinguish itself from the pack aside from the inexplicable shifting gravity bit.
It isn’t that it was a bad game. It was okay. But after 10 years, you’d expect it to be at least better than Serious Sam.
Duke was amazing in its day. Not so much for the graphics, but the truly inventive weapons and the maps that gave many opportunities to exploit the weapons…
The Shrink Ray, trip mines and pipe bombs, along with traditional shotguns and rocket launchers made Duke a blast.
Today Team Fortress 2 fills that niche, but no one has ever really captured the fun of Duke’s weapons cache.
