A hospital patient in Finland found a mouse head among the steamed vegetables on his plate.

“Understandably, he lost his appetite,” said Sakari Kela, chief administrator at the Northern Karelia Central Hospital…

The severed head most likely originated in a bag of Belgian vegetables. The body has not been found and being “a Belgian mouse, the rest of it could be anywhere in Europe,” Kela said.

Eeoouuh!

i wouldnt go to that hospital again and if i were the hospital i would stop buying vegetables from them

  2. It’s funny that they try to blame it on the Belgiums. We recently went there for my wife to have found one of the cleanest, most efficient hospitals in the world. Although perhaps their vegetable exporters aren’t quite as clean.

  3. Typo on my previous comment

(Above should have read “…recently went there for my wife to have surgery…”

    Sorry.

Still below biting into an apple and finding HALF a worm.

    J/P=?

  5. It’s a funny thing about cultural preferences. Like us, and pigs, and cows, and chickens, mice are made of meat.

I’m not a big fan of eating the heads of animals. But, if properly cooked, the rest of the mouse would be perfectly normal food.

And … still … my cultural upbringing forces me to say … ICK!!!

    Why is that?

Very misleading picture. This has nothing to do with Disney yet the picture lead you to believe it is. Please change.

When I find it I will let him know…maybe they can perform surgery and save that poor animals live…the Pope would love this one.

  10. Here *I* thought this was a tech story on mouse-free computing like “Minority Report” or something. Yeeech! Need better description in RSS feeds….

I think I’ll pass on any salad tonight.

  12. lakelady says:

in my experience if you find only a mouse head the body is usually found in the belly of a cat.

Of course you realize that official food purity rules actually allow for a certain acceptable level of insect parts and rodent hairs, etc. in our food.
