“It is definitely discrimination, almost like a hate crime,” 19-year-old Miss Maltby said yesterday. The music technology student had this defense of her lifestyle.
“I am a pet, I generally act animal like and I lead a really easy life,” she said. “I don’t cook or clean and I don’t go anywhere without Dani. It might seem strange but it makes us both happy. It’s my culture and my choice. It isn’t hurting anyone.” The bus driver, however, has obviously not been listening. He has repeatedly refused to allow Mr Graves, 25, and his “pet” on to his bus in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire. Last month, with Miss Maltby on a leash as usual, the couple tried to board a bus at the bus station. The driver, who was off duty, was standing near the door. Mr Graves alleged: “He shoved me off the bus. He called us freaks and he called Tasha a dog.
An insult to dogs everywhere, Woof!

Hmmm…. Someone should call the cops. How happy can the woman be if the guy has to use a choke chain in public?

So much for feminism, eh?
I love the simple-minded folk who think the bus driver was in the right in refusing public transport to a human being. Even if you disagree with their lifestyle choice, saying it’s ok to verbally abuse someone speaks volumes about YOUR mental and emotional deficiencies.
They are all a bunch of idiots.
Where can I get at pet like that?
The main problem I have with the kids are “The couple, who live on benefits in a council house and plan to start a family” Get a Job.
If they behave on the Bus let them ride but I would make him remove her chain while on the bus for safety reasons.
The bus driver is just jealous. he has wanted to put his wandering sexually rabid life on a leash, for his mate, for years.
A fashion note. They are not a goth couple. Their mode of dress is “doggie style.”

They look cool. The dude is balding. He looks like an aging hair rocker. The girl loves Rock.
@Jetfire
If you read the attached article if full you’ll see the statement “He said he always got on with other bus drivers and although he took his fiancee
round on a lead, they always took it off before getting on a bus as it could be dangerous.”
She may be a dog but I’d bury a bone in her backyard.
You know it’s pretty bad when PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION doesn’t let you on. I kinda side with spike and tyke with this one though. Let them on. I am sure they got places to go.
P.S. Aside from the leash, is it really that bad an outfit? If you take the lead off will she run away? Apparently not. I even let my cat out without his leash sometimes and he comes back.
If you don’t want to be treated differently, don’t be different. You want to be a freak, deal with it.
That being said, what you have her is a asshat driver refusing to carry two other asshats. Yawn.
He may have been afraid she’d poop on the bus.
This morning on the radio (flaming liberal NPR) I heard a story on how increasingly Muslim women in the UK are flocking towards full-body covering, even abandoning the colorful veils they would wear in the past. I thought that was odd, how they must realize that they are throwing away their status in the community. And then this!
They’re finding out (the Muslims) that, with the help of the PC contingent, they will, after all, be assisted in importing their barbaric and inferior culture into the UK…

Okay… But you said…

Religion is about conformity. It’s about submission to a dogma and the leaders who promote and preserve that dogma.
You seem to be offering two conflicting points of view…
If you ask me, conformity is a sin.
Dani had a five foot girl
she claimed she was his pet.
He thought he’d give this goth a whirl
‘Til a bus driver he met.
The driver told them
“Off the bus!”
So off the bus they went.
And now the’re filing a huge complaint
With the government.
Dani and Tasha are beautiful to me. Everyone is different. Every person is different. We must learn to accept our differences and even celebrate our differences, or the world is going to become a miserable place to be.
They are being discriminated against for being black. Hmmmm not allowed on the bus, you say. Where have I heard that before?
