Hey guys! Room for one more?

MONTREAL (Reuters) – Consumer advocate Ralph Nader said on Monday he will decide soon on whether to make a another bid for the White House in 2008, eight years after playing a key role as a third party presidential candidate. “I’ll decide in about a month,” he said in an interview broadcast on CBC Radio’s Daybreak show in Montreal. “What I’m deciding on right now is whether we can get enough volunteers, enough financial resources to overcome the huge ballot access obstacles, which you don’t experience here in Canada, but which are the worst in the Western world in the United States,” said Nader, who will turn 74 on February 27.

Nader, who made his name as a consumer crusader during decades of battling corporations on matters from car to food safety, ran for president as an independent in 2004 and as the Green Party candidate in 2000.

Critics say he siphoned away enough votes from then Democratic Vice President Al Gore in the 2000 campaign — especially in Florida — to help Republican George W. Bush to win the White House.

I know, its a Republican clown car, but you get the idea.

From a country where we don’t get to choose leaders, I have to say that America might actually have too many to choose from.

  2. tcc3 says:

    Leaders? Not likely.

    Politicians? Certainly.

  3. julieb says:

It’s idiots like this who give Romney a fighting chance. Nader is a bonehead. I just hope we don’t end up with Huckabee just because some stupid hippies vote for Nader. Here we go again.

NEWSFLASH: The Corvair was discontinued in 1969!

  4. Pharaoh90 says:

Nader wont run. Thompson and Ron Paul stole his thunder…

  5. Joshua says:

Nader is on the ballot in California…..Green’s I think.

One of those **clowns**, if he stays in the front runner spot, will most likely be your next President McCullough. He still beats every Democrat in the head to heads. Hell, if Hillery is the nominee of the Dems……he even takes 12% of the Dem.’s vote, with 91% of the Rep.’s and 46% of the Indies….and thats without campaigning.

    Go McCain 🙂

  6. Bryan Price says:

He’s (one of) the damn reason why we got Bush the first time.

FFS, somebody put him out of his misery before he decides to do it. Really.

  7. gregallen says:

I’m still mad at the Greens for being so darn stupid, politically.

I mean, those goofballs said — and seemed to really believe — that “there is no difference between GW Bush and Al Gore.”

I mean, could any people have worse political judgment than THAT?

(OK. OK. Maybe the wack jobs who RE-ELECTED one of the worst presidents in US history. But that’s a low bar.)

  8. Dan says:

Oh for crying out loud! Don’t blame Nader for putting Bush in the office. Just because Democrats are on the “Left” dosn’t mean that they speak for the Left, most of the people who voted for Nater in 2000 wouldn’t have voted in the election or they would have voted for who ever was in the Green Party seat. Besides it was the combind powers of the Supreme Court and the Electirict College (sp?) that put Mr. Bush in even those Mr. Gore wone the Popular Vote.

  9. AdmFubar says:

all right a running mate for dennis the menace!!!!

ol ralphy needs to stick to consumer product reports…
now if he’d evaluate the canidates as he did any other defective product we’d actually start getting worth while canidates

  10. billabong says:

Bush didn’t win! He was awarded the office by the supreme court.

  11. Li says:

I think we are all bozos on this bus.

  12. Bigbob says:

    Good Grief!!!!!!
Tell the old 60’s hippie goat to retire and find something useful to do and don’t screw up another election. Maybe this man is actually a Republican operative who gets paid to help split the vote.

  13. iGlobalWarmer says:

The Demoncrats are truly evil as any one of them will raise taxes. Raising taxes that are already too high is the moral equivalent of killing people. I hope Nader runs. Anything to reduce the chance of a Demoncrat president.

#7 – The Greens are nuts but they at least understand that anything is better than a modern Demoncrat. Hell, human extinction is better than them.

#10 – Gore attempted to steal the election through illegal recounts – the court properly stopped it.

  14. John S says:

In the United States of America anyone has the right to run for office whether anyone else likes it or not and anyone has the right to vote for who they want on matter what anyone else likes it or not. I watched a documentary about Ralph Nader where people all said the same thing as people here have said about him keeping out of politics so that there candidate could win. They said people voted for Mr. Nader and that caused Gore and Kerry to lose. The fact that the numbers proved that wrong did not matter. To me the worst thing being said is that you cannot vote for who you choose according to these people. What ever the say to rationalize their opinion is just an excuse.

    John
