Is this a hoax? What is going on here? You will see it about 2 minutes into the interview.

  1. Steve-O says:

They were scrolling the response Huckabee made during an interview when he was questioned about his ad in Iowa. He said that if you play the spot backwards it says Paul is dead.

No big deal. It was a joke referencing the Beatles.

It just happened that CNN ran the scroll during the Ron Paul interview.

  2. comhcinc says:

wait is paul dead? really it’s interesting how nuts make connections

  3. steve says:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Tm59600r_E Huckabee quote from the scroll

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vbGmaeZRmQw huckabee ad backwards (toward the end it sounds like he says “Ron is dead”)

  4. Rabble Rouser says:

Wow, he isn’t? He’s older than McCain by about two years. They will both be dead soon, if they already are not. This can only be a benefit to the American Public. Guys like these holding office are part of what’s wrong with this country.

  5. Zybch says:

#4 If you think that, you obviously have no grasp about whats really wrong then.

  6. the answer says:

I think what Rabble Rouser is saying is that we need forward thinking people, not people who are stuck in a bubble. Most older politicians fall into this stereotype. But what we TRULY need is socially minded people in office.

  7. BeatleHead says:

Are you really not aware of the legend that Paul mcCartney died, and replaced by Lennon & co by an imposter? There are “hints” on Abbey Road, and in later Beatles music (search for “paul is dead, miss him miss him miss him”..)

    Funny, nevertheless.

  8. Arpie says:

I think the case in point is a non-issue, but it raises an interesting question. How much of the scrolling ticker underneath the main content can affect people subliminally? Has anyone ever conducted a study? Could fox be using that on purpose?

  9. bmcginnis says:

Oy, globalization really needs to be rebooted…

  10. eyeofthetiger says:

Only a chosen few in impeccable underwear got the cheese, now the bank cannot fold the fold. Tuna melt, please? Geeze, just nock me down and piss in my butt.

  11. Kevitivity says:

Ron Paul nuttier than squirrel poo. It’s going to be fun watching his campaign crash and burn. The most recent Gallup poll has Ron Paul finally tie with Alan Keys at 3%.

  12. ATLScottie says:

“Here’s what we’ll do. Every time Ron Paul’s name comes up, we’ll inject the word ‘nut’ into the conversation. If we say it enough, people will eventually believe he’s really a nut.”

“Shouldn’t we provide some sort of proof that he’s a nut? You know, back up what we say?”

“Don’t be silly. Did Bush *prove* Kerry was a ‘flip-flopper’? Of course not. He didn’t have to *prove* anything. All he had to do was say ‘flip flop’ repeatedly and the talking heads made it synonymous with the Kerry campaign…similar to the way we made everyone believe that Gore said he invented the Internet.”

“You, sir, are a genius! Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha…”

You know the what problem with polls is, Kevitivity? All of the responses are from people who aren’t bright enough to avoid the pollers. Consequently, the poll results represent the opinions of the lowest ranks in society…you know, the morons who regurgitate whatever they hear…like, for instance, Ron Paul is a nut.

As of this writing, 25% of the comments related to this topic contain the word “nut”.

  13. Joe says:

You see these vile-natured attitudes are exactly the thing that a principled man like Ron Paul and his millions of supporters are standing up against. Yalls ‘nut’ comments are ill-mannored and of an undignified spirit. and basically your wreaking nuttiness yourselves.

From Paul’s supporters you hear things like peace, hope, and strength Only you warmongers preach nuttiness and intellegent people easily see through it. among other fallacies this ‘nutty’ agenda of yours is whats called a Straw-Man Argument (in aristotelian logic) wherein you build up an unsound (and therefore invalid) argumnent that you can easily knock down.

“You cannot shake a principled man from his position while you yourself stand upon an unsound foundation.”

  14. MikeN says:

Kerry’s not a flip-flopper. He consistently spoke against war in front of anti-war audiences and in favor of war when speaking to pro-war audiences. That’s not flip-flopping that is pandering, and America deserves a president who knows the difference.

  15. RickCain says:

Huckabee should be arrested. You can’t make threats against a congressman. Of course when it comes to the GOP anything goes. Heck the draft dodger Ted Nugent threatened Hillary’s life onstage during a concert and the feds didn’t track him down, but if a 12 year old kid wears an anti-bush t-shirt he gets a visit from the FBI.

  16. Noam Sane says:

That Glenn Beck. He’s a real genius. I’m surprised he’s not splitting atoms somewhere, rather than hosting a TV talk show.

  18. Hunter Cashdollar says:

Huckabee was making a joke referencing the old Beatles “Paul is Dead” Sgt. Peppers thing.

  19. GetSmart says:

    Koo-koo-ka-juub!
