This is one of those websites that’s both exceptionally cool and a little frightening in this day and age. For most of the airports listed, you can listen in on air traffic control. With JFK (see screen grab above) you have a live radar feed. Perfect for airplane buffs and terrorists alike.

Unfortunately, the audio requires Real Audio. For those who would rather not deal with the choke hold that program inflicts on those installing it, there’s Real Alternative for Windows. Not sure what’s available for Mac and Linux.

Found by my brother, Uncle Don.

I listened for an hour and thought I was in Australia I heard gooday so many times.

It is nice to listen and watch the planes arrive and leave while you hear them.

    Thanks for the post

  2. FRAGaLOT says:

Whoa this is perdy cool. I’m going to be flying this weekend, but no northern-ca airports are on this site. :/

  3. Ubiquitous Talking Head says:

Perfect for airplane buffs and terrorists alike.

Maps/GPS: perfect for travelers and terrorists alike.

Cellphones: perfect for families and terrorists alike.

Internet: perfect for h4xorz and terrorists alike.

milk: it’s what the terrorists drink.

  4. Does this mean one can now hear one’s relatives’ plane crash in real time? Yeesh!! I’m not looking forward to hearing about the first case of that happening.

  5. Flyer says:

Cool yes, Frightening no. Per law, all of the info is delayed by 5 minutes.

  6. RMR says:

Those websites have a time delay to mitigate harm.

I guess I don’t have the patience for this one. I messed with it for 5 minutes and found nothing but dead links, or links to other pages of links, some of which were dead links, and the rest of which were just links to other pages of links…
