Gonzales Named Lawyer of the Year
A magazine published by the American Bar Association on Wednesday named former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales its Lawyer of the Year for 2007 — mostly for creating so much controversial news.The ABA Journal also picked Attorney General Michael Mukasey — Gonzales’ successor — to be its lawyer of the year for 2008 because he has to deal with the problems left when Gonzales resigned under fire last fall.

Its because he had created so much controversial news. And so he did–first Att Gen to objectively subvert the constitution in favor of his presnit. Thats why minorities should never be hired for important jobs. They are too thankful for being treated like human beings.
The ABA is so stodgy, conservative and candyass – they may as well turn their awards ceremony over to The Onion.

I have no idea why the ultra right wing nuts like to bash Reno. It isn’t like she had to resign in disgrace, a criminal, like John Mitchell did. It isn’t as if she was declared the most infamous attorney in America. It isn’t as if she subverted the Justice Department for political ends.

Its Attorney OF THE YEAR. I don’t think being inactive and retired and doing nothing for the last 7 years qualifies. But I would remember to put her garter in the running for lame attorney OF THE LAST TEN YEARS, if you insist.

Some of the other nominees were in the SCOTUS. The AG by himself can’t cause as much damage as those lawyers.

First as tragedy, in Germany, then as satire, in America. Perhaps after we get rid of these clowns the human race can put the delusion of fascism behind us forever.
I have totally forgotten why right wingers, like Phillep, hated Janet Reno so much. All-in-all, I think history has judged her as a pretty decent AG.
But Gonzoles? History will surely judge him harshly, even though the conservatives cheered him on.
He’ll be remembered for shamefully putting politics over justice and — of course — for reinstating torture — a huge setback for any civilized country.
