This is for all the fools who keep commenting that the reductions in freedoms Bush & Co. have enacted don’t affect them. Maybe not yet, but given how invasive these changes are to what were once considered sacrosanct rights, it’s just a matter of time. How much you bet they’ll then be the ones whining the loudest?
BTW, notice which channel this is from? If Fox News thinks it’s a bad problem, we’re really in trouble.
LOL, nope.
“Cop killer bullets” have killed no cops (but the number of cops dead of head wounds went up after the news media publicized the widespread use of vests by the cops). Bullet holes in airplanes have sucked no one out of airplanes, in spite of the fantasies on TV. “Plastic guns” are not undetectable. “Bayonet lugs” have not been used to kill anyone in the US. The number of cops killed by people using “assault weapons” is down around 2%, and it was effectively ZERO before the news media claimed it was the latest fad among gang bangers.
A gun in the house is not 47 times as likely to kill a friend or family member as an intruder (and that ignores the question of how many times an intruder has left a house at the sight of a gun pointed at him, and so does not get shot). The correct FBI demographic is not “friend or family member”, it is “friend, family member, or acquantence” (sane people have to be acquanted with someone before deciding to hate his guts).
Nope. The gun haters are truly gullible.
Now, about the favorable rating. How do the Democrats in Congress fare these days? Have they gotten up to even half of Bush’s ratings?

The Democrats’ ratings in Congress have gone UP by about 15% in the past 10 years; the Republican’s have gone DOWN by about 20%
Please do not try to confuse the issue by confounding the overall shitty ratings of Congress as a whole with the growing respect for congressional Democrats who are seeking to slow or reverse the abortion that has been Little King Georgie’s reign.
“But this is what your Israeli overlords sold you” – #21
And there you have it folks, true colors shining through. Both parties are pretty much fascist when you get right down to the core.
I’ll never get over how so many people never notice that one party thinks it’s OK to take away one set of rights, and the other party staunchly defends those particular rights while advocating taking away the rest. And I’m not just talking about the politicians, this is your neighbor, your kids teacher, your sister… they all seem to be choosing sides and sticking no matter what (even though, in reality, they are all in the same exact place).
Who you vote for doesn’t matter. It’s been over for a long time. February 21, 1871 “Acts of the Forty-First Congress,” Section 34, Session III, chapters 61 and 62. Congress passed an Act titled: “An Act To Provide A Government for the District of Columbia.” This Act formed the corporation known as THE UNITED STATES which operates under Private International Law.
Look at the UNITED STATES CODE (note the capitalization, indicating the corporation, not the Republic) Title 28 3002 (15) (A) (B) (C). It is stated unequivocally that the UNITED STATES is a corporation.
Congress is fully aware of this deception. They are NOT our civil servants. They do NOT work for us. They are the servants of the corporate government and carry out its bidding.
Because you claim citizenship under the 14 Amendment, YOU are owned by the corporation from birth to death. The corporate UNITED STATES also holds ownership of all your assets, your property, and even your children.
Mustard…… despite your playing with the numbers…. Congress is in a shit hole. 23% favorable. Of the 70 freshmen Democrats elected in 2006 49 of them are now below 40% favorable in their districts. 15 of them are only 49% favorable.
Bush somehow manages to stay at about 33 or 34% favorable…. that’s beyond me.
The polls on the 2008 election are finally scaring the Democrats. They thought they could walk away with the Presidency by nominating just about anyone and that has been dropping like a stone for 3 months now. The closer we get to an actual primary day, the more behind the Dems possible nominee’s get in relation to the possible Repubs nominees.
Last month 3 of the best polls showed Hillary beating Guiliani, Thompson, Romney by 5 to 9% in a head to head, and McCain beating Hillary by 5% (with in the margin of error by 1%). This month 2 new polls (Zogby and Rasmussion) now have Hillary losing to ALL of the top tier Repubs (all but McCain with in the margin of error, McCain beats her outside the margin). Obama and Edwards still beat all the top Repubs, but by well with in the margin of error. Why? Because Independents and the young (under 30) are moving to the Repubs.
This says people are sheep or stupid or just don’t believe the Democrats and their professed goal’s.
It won’t matter which of the top candidates wins next November. The Department of Homeland Security will still be there and all of these laws passed (with bi-partisan support by the way) will not be rescinded. I know that the lefties on here hate hearing it, but it’s the truth, both parties really are the same. Oh, they spout it differently, but when push comes to shove, there isn’t any difference anymore and hasn’t been since at least the 80’s.
When people like Rupert Murdoch can unabashedly support Hillary Clinton and the CEOs of most of the Fortune 500 are avid donor’s to the Democrats (and less now then in the past to the Repubs) then you need to stop and see what’s going on. There are only a hand full of Senators and maybe 60 or 70 House member’s that are truly Democrat or Republican firebrands like days of old. The rest are kind of like Metrosexuals….a cross between Democrats and Republicans, making them almost bland.
I was watching the coverage of the 60,000 student’s protesting Chavez’s illegal proposal to change the Venezuela constitution to allow a President to run as often as he/she likes. A bill about to be passed by a compliant Congress. Tear gas was flying, billy clubs were being used, fires were started and the students held their own. And I thought about this country and the changes being made by our President and Congress and our people’s reactions to those changes. What’s going on here is far more dangerous than allowing a person to run perpetually for office, yet there is no REAL opposition. Neither party is REALLY up in arm’s and you have to ask yourself why? And it’s because the Democrat’s running (every damn one of them), and the Republican’s running (every damn one of them) don’t want these laws changed because they all are hoping they will be the next ***decider*** and get to wield these powers.
I forgot to mention…..where are the student rioters in the US.???
Where are the large demonstrations of outrage???
Where are the indignant media members giving fiery editorials???
Nowhere….the Judge is right, we are sheep.
Most people in this country will not rise up because it would interfere with their nice easy lives. We don’t exercise, so why should we expect people to march in a demonstration that is for something so **old fashioned** as preserving our constitutional rights. If it was a march saving the snail darter or an old house, then thousands would be there, but not for our fundamental rights as citizens.
And Fusion….the Judge is an old Neo-con, and of course he is selling a book(so are all the liberals by the way)but the fact he is who he is should be telling. He’s not the first conservative or neo-con to speak up this past year. When Liberals wail about our right’s being eroded no one really listens, but when prominent conservative’s and especially neo-cons start speaking up, people do listen, because they are like the Geese of Rome, they are the warning bell that something isn’t right.
No, FoxNews isn’t news, it’s flashy, fear mongering and is itself punditry. It gets good ratings, and that’s all that counts.
In fact, it’s been proven.
