Role model for issue-oriented campaigns
Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney has spent $10.2 million on television advertising this year — a record amount at this point in a presidential campaign — according to new data provided to CNN.
Romney is spending more than $85,000 a day — $600,000 last week alone — on campaign commercials.
“Advertising is still by and large a one man band, with Romney leading the way with his record pace,” said Evan Tracey, chief operating officer of Campaign Media Analysis Group.
Selling politicians is as useful as the rest of the crap – As Seen on TV.
Cant wait tell Ron popeil(?) gets involved…
RONCO…
0. He said surrounded by proven advertising.
Ergo my deep-rooted suspicion that democracy is mainly supported because of the easy-manipulation it provides by those with deep pockets.

Why??? How can you recoup that expenditure once you’re President?
Oh….I see…
BTW
A fraction of that cost in professional banners, liking to a really well made website + blog + forum.
Make the payout for Thousand-views and Clicks 5x the industry norm to get money into the blogging community.
100K$ will go a long long way online compared to TV.
For someone who’s going to lose the primaries he sure spends a lot.
Vote for Daffy or Howard, at LEASt we know our votes will count…IF we have enough.
Enough= 1/3 of the USA population.

Maybe eideard meant erection circus. That’s a picture of “Bob” from some bad cable advert re: “how we can rob you blind by making you think Mr. Sticky will get bigger.”
10 million is nothing for a presidential campaign. Romeny is jsut trying to stay afloat hoping he won’t get swallowed up by the better candidates, Giuliani and McCain.
Wow, that’s a lot of advertising! …Who is Mitt Romney?
So Mitt Romney is unknown compared to John McCain, Rudy Giuliani, and Fred Thompson. He needs to spend money to get even with those guys. But according to the most liberals, candidates shouldn’t be allowed to spend money like this.
I’m not sure if the world is ready for a President that believes this:

Horay! So the political figurehead with the most money (contributed by corporate shills) who shells out enough of it to the mass media (who is owned by other monolopist corporations), to run their adverts of lies about their character and how bad their opponents are (also made by a corporate media advertising concern), gets their face into ours often enough so the vast major of mushheaded voters believe that they’re the best choice, and they win. Horay! Frankly. At this point in the history of the politcal process, I don’t believe it makes any difference who gets the job anymore. The major corporate influence will steer whoever gets the position, into ultimately doing what is wanted by the corporate gestalt. There’s so little integrity left in the parties, or any eligible candidate, that their promised reforms don’t mean a thing. They’ve all always promised to make things better. And they’ve always managed to screw up things even more, each term. Evetually, they’ll just appoint one of themselves as King of the US. Because it cost too much to run an election every few years, that so few of us believe in. And then they can stop pretending to do what the voter wants. And just do what their richest sponsors want.

USA doesn’t equal “The World”
lol
#13….no it dosen’t…..but I’ll bet your one of those pesky folks who keep carping on about how, who we elect or what we(the USA) do has an effect on the rest of the world.
If your not one of those folk’s…..glad to meet you. 🙂
According to Liberal’s everywhere(a good number of Conservatives also) Bush’s presidency has caused everything thats wrong with the world to happen.
Can’t wait until after the 2008 election’s to see who those folks are going to blame when not much changes after Bush is gone.(though anyone elected would almost HAVE to have more intelligence)
#13 – But it does equal the part of the world that matters (except for nude beaches in other countries).
