I’d like to thank Maureen Dowd for permitting/begging me to write her column today. As I type this, she’s watching from an overstuffed divan, petting her prize Abyssinian and sipping a Dirty Cosmotinijito. Which reminds me: Before I get started, I have to take care of one other bit of business:
Bad things are happening in countries you shouldn’t have to think about. It’s all George Bush’s fault, the vice president is Satan, and God is gay.

Maureen should’ve given me a shot– I would’ve been funnier. Maybe, it was all those love letters I sent her.

*yawn* The same comments said by EVERYONE who has a team of writers writing his monologues.
Why is it that I just don’t find this guy funny 90% of the time? I read the column and smiled twice…..smiled, not laughed.
I like good humour, and it dosen’t have to be clean or non political or even politically correct…..just funny…..and I don’t think he is.
I like Bill Mahr’s stuff and John Stewart and Dennis Miller. They cover the spectrum of political, social and everyday humour and do it in a smart assed, irreverant manner and I laugh. But not Colbert.

I agree, although I find lately that Dennis Miller is using three syllable words often just to pretend he’s smart.
#7…Angel….plus Miller has gotten more right wing in his humor lately. He always was from the right, but the last couple times I saw him it just seemed more so.
