William J. Notaro was on a plane Saturday headed for Albany, N.Y., to visit family, authorities said, when he asked a flight attendant for Band-Aids. The Clearwater man was bleeding – from gunshot wounds.
Notaro was taken off a U.S. Airways flight in Charlotte, N.C., and treated at a local hospital for wounds to his torso and arm, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. The injuries were not life-threatening.
He told deputies he was shot while playing cards with friends about 3 a.m. Saturday in Windemere Apartments,[…] Notaro, […], said he argued with a woman who shot him three times with a small-caliber handgun.
Unbelievable that a man who’s shot three times doesn’t go to the hospital. I think there’s more to this story than meets the eye.
From the St. Petersburg Times.
That’s the kind of thing that demands further questioning, no doubt!
“Small caliber weapon”. That could be right down to a .22 short.
That’s why I like a .45acp with 9mm as a minimum.
hmmmm…..
guess the lead didn’t set off the metal detectors.
“Sir, what are you hiding in the hole in your arm?”
Well he probably didn’t go to a hospital because he knew that hospitals will report gunshot wounds to the police.
i am stuck on band-aids ‘cuase band-aids stuck on me!!!
Has anyone else noticed that the RSS feeds for the blog aren’t working? Or is it just me?
one more reason not to play “poker” with women 😉
Are we positive the flight attendants didn’t shoot him for wearing an offensive t-shirt?
Another case of no health insurance stopping someone from seeking medical treatment.
So, he got shot before going to the airport? How do you get through security? I mean its *kinda* hard to totally hide being shot 3 times, even with a .22. What about the metal detector?
10 – Speculation: The same reason tooth fillings don’t set off the detector. It’s probably set for ferric metals.
Has anyone tried carrying a pocket full of silver or gold coins through the detectors?
As has been pointed out, hospitals report gunshot wounds to the police. And if the man had no insurance, he would likely get treated for free. But if he was like me, and had what is generally considered pretty good health insurance, he’d still be on the hook for hundreds of dollars for an emergency room visit.
I can’t really say I blame him for staying away.
“said he argued with a woman who shot him three times with a small-caliber handgun.”
Hillary Clinton strikes again.
