And, deservedly so!
Traffic school? I peg John as having a lead foot.
John, PETA is coming after you for that last statement on your podcast. Forget about traffic school, you’re gonna have to go to sensitivity training– might do you your crankiness some good.
I’m sorry to hear the Bubbling Bloviator is still under water.
Unlistenable.
Sigh!
Without applying anything geeky to the information, one of the surprises in the Apple conference call to investors, last night, was Apple’s estimate of the number of “unlocked” iPhones was higher than the analysts. 17% vs 10%.
If anything, this reflects dissatisfaction – in advance – with what AT&T offers consumers in voice and data services. Folks are buying the phone. They just intend to use it elsewhere.
Dear Sir, we (me at least, many Slavic people likely) knew for a long time that you can’t properly pronounce your name. I have been wondering if it have been intentional (conforming to the USA English “expectations” of how certain spelling should be pronounced) or you simply didn’t know (hard to believe, but possible).
For non-Slavic people: last name Dvorak is very localized to the Czech nation. Hence, pronouncement of it should follow the original Czech. To quote Wiki: “Dvořák (IPA: [ˈdvor̝a:k]) is a common Czech surname. It used to refer to farmers having their own free farm (derived from dvůr (= yard, court, estate).[1] The feminine form is Dvořáková [ˈdvor̝a:kova:]. In English, it is sometimes spelt without diacritics, as Dvorak “. To simplify: “r” in Dvorak is not an “English r” but the sound better described by English spelling of “rzh” or “rzz” (former is usually better understood by the USA English speakers and latter by the UK ones).
So, J.C.Dvorak should pronounce his name as J.C.Dvorzhak (Dvorzzak). It would be nice if some Czech national could make a sound file of Dvorak pronounced, similar to the famous “How Linus pronounces Linux” for Tech 5 Report or CrankyGeeks… 🙂
I find it absolutely unbelievable that readers (listeners) continue to complain about the “bubbling cauldron” in the background. You can hardly hear it. I had to go back to the clip to see if it was on there today because I don’t even notice it. Some people!
lead foot, or, a dewy?
O.K. 10/22 was the day you ran out of things to say.Why would you ever let it be known to these Cretins that you are attending traffic school?Be good to yourself for crying out loud!
Most modern games ARE trash just like most modern action movies ARE trash. You want a big example? Halo3 is a gold plated turd just like Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions are noting but $300 million dollar infomercials.
Nowadays ANY game can be pretty but not ANY game can be good.
So their profits are up, who cares? They still own just a tiny, tiny fraction of the computer market, barely 6%.
Apple’s sales can go from 5% to 6%, claim a huge jump (they’d be right) and they’re still insignificant, no matter what the apple fanboys claim.
Over 50% of Mac sales in the quarter were to first-timers. ‘Nuff said.

Everyone knows their first time was lousy, wasteful and full of mistakes 🙂
No, Angel. We’re just not forced to choose between replacing them every couple years and getting left behind. 😉
