     From The Miami Herald

For two days, Dorothy Sanders sauntered around in her Miami Gardens backyard, picking up fallen avocados, chatting over the chain link fence with passing neighbors — unaware that there was a dead man in one of her trees.

Late Sunday morning, she and two neighbors searched the ground for more avocados when they looked up and saw a man in his 50s straddling a branch about 20 feet up. ”His legs were hanging down, like he was seated or something,” Sanders said.

It seems the man was electrocuted as he attempted to get avocados from the upper branches with an 18-foot metal pole, authorities said. A Miami-Dade police spokesman said the cause of death would not be official until the medical examiner’s autopsy, but preliminary inquiry points to an accident.

Ya steals da avocados, ya takes yer chances.

Make sure you stay on the lookout for the news story reporting that the man’s estate sues Dorothy Sanders, the Power company, who ever made the 18 foor metal pole and probably God for making avocados so yummy.

What can I say? Death by stupidity seems to be prevalent these days.

And all for a “free” avocado. 😆

Nice new logo! Who gets the credit for that?

  7. That will teach you that Avacadoes are not good for your health – no matter what the Avacado industry tells you
It is a good thing that the dead victim did not fall into the yard – where a rabid dog, blog sucking mosquitoes and a ton of rats were waiting patiently

He was escaping from the graboids

In South Florida people are usually stealing the fruit from your Mango trees. Maybe this guy was the newer type of South Florida import that loves guacamole.

I remember hearing that San Diego county has two full-time officers protecting avocado crops. They’re pretty valuable. I’ve also heard that people love to steal mamey colorado fruit in Florida. Tasty stuff.
