Some of the most unlikely attendees of Sunday�s kinky leather fetish festival were under four feet tall.
Two-year-olds Zola and Veronica Kruschel waddled through Folsom Street Fair amidst strangers in fishnets and leather crotch pouches, semi and fully nude men.
The twin girls who were also dressed for the event wore identical lace blouses, floral bonnets and black leather collars purchased from a pet store.
Fathers Gary Beuschel and John Kruse watched over them closely. They were proud to show the twins off.
“They will see more than the kids with moms and dads in Iowa,” said Beuschel, who wanted to expose his children to San Francisco’s diverse community. “Every parent has to decide for themselves what is right for them. And I respect that. And we decided that this is right for our children.”
Beuschel and his girls were at the 22nd Folsom Street Fair, an annual leather event in San Francisco�s South of Market district, which showcased outrageous costumes, fetish attire, and a community obsessed with bondage, whipping, and spanking.

The strangest day I have ever spent…on Market street watching the Gay Pride parade a couple of years ago. All the strippers came out of the “gentlemans clubs” and hung out, (literally). Have to admit though, it was kind of fun and very funny.

I just read the article…..should have read it first…..lol….Mr. Kruse is way off base (and his rocker)….the people who feel kids have no place at an open air sex orgy are not the same who feel gays shouldn’t adopt. I fully support gay adoption, marriage and all other rights, but I think this is no place for kids. The women who said her son was too young to know whats going on is stupid….children ARE aware of their environment at a very, very young age and some of what they have seen and been in comes to the fore much later in life. Quite often you can trace certain behaviours in teens to events from when they were 1 to 4 y/o.
A good example is the 10 y/o boy who commented that **it’s nasty, because people get naked and stuff**………..and there are no words to describe the*jerk off* that was jerking off as the reporter spoke to him (yes, pun intended)…..lol
I consider myself a pretty tolerant liberal but I could not approve of some of the things I’ve seen at the SF Gay Pride parade — especially the anti-religious bigotry.

Yes there is nakedness, but if the US would just grow up with relation to it’s “private parts” it would be all the better for it.

Since sex, gay, straight, bi, group, whatever, isn’t a bad thing or an immoral thing, I have chosen not to care about this.
I’d be more concerned if they took the kids to a military weapons convention or an Ultimate Fighting Championship or a Benny Hinn crusade or a George Bush rally.

The inappropriate sexualisation of children is not something for which gays have a monopoly. Plenty of straight women dress their little girls up for those creepy beauty pageants which is just as wrong except those take place for the most part in the bible belt. Remember those pictures of Jean Benet? Making this into a gay parents’ issue is unfortunate. It should be a bad parents’ issue and bad parents know no subcultural boundaries.

if it was simply nudity, I would not have a problem with children of any age attending, but the linked pictures make it pretty clear children shouldn’t be attending.
Yes, I have no problem with clothing-optional areas (as long as they are officially designated and posted as such) nor do I have a problem with children being present as long as there is no lewd behavior.
I grew up in a liberal/intellectual family that had many gay friends, and as a result I know most of them are just regular people, really, even though I’m a ‘normal’ guy who goes for pussy. Why do they like little boys so much? It seems to have something to do with changes that happen during puberty. Read your Sigmund Freud if you want to know more; it was one of his more astute observations.
Gays getting ‘married’ and rearing adopted children? Well, if it actually is an unconditionally loving environment that only wants to rear them to be happy and successful, then so be it. You know, the interesting thing about kiddies (the human species) is that “any” kind of behavior they are exposed to is mostly aped and accepted as normal–unless the adults around them go apeshit in reaction.

I saw a kid trip in the store. Mom went apeshit with concern over the bump on the head—kid hollers for the next 20 minutes. Next day, different kid trips and bangs head into sidewalk. His dad said “Hey-look, is there a hole in the sidewalk?” Kid looks and forgets to cry.
So yea–all you thinking the kids will be traumatized by adults in leather==your kids would be. and vice versa. What do you think makes us the way we are?

What consenting adults choose to do with one another – in private – is no concern of the law, or shouldn’t be. But OTOH, because you’re free to do something does not make it normal. Neither heterosexual nor homosexual is perverted, per se – but perversion is significantly higher among male homosexuals.
SF is always to be commended as being possiibly the world’s most tolerant city, but where the right of people to be different is celebrated is where you’ll also find the highest concentrations of those who are at the pathological extremes of difference.
SF gave birth to the Beat and hippie movements – but it is also home to NAMBLA.
