The latest hype starts off with lapdog reporters telling us about a heroic pre-dawn raid – on a hotel in downtown Sulaimaniyah.

According to Fox Snooze:

The Iranian officer was allegedly involved in transporting roadside bombs, including armor-piercing explosively formed penetrators, or EFPs, into Iraq, according to a military statement. It said intelligence reports also indicated he was involved in the infiltration and training of foreign fighters in Iraq.

Quoting the President of Iraq:

Iraqi President Jalal Talabani has called for the immediate release of an Iranian official detained by US forces in the semi-autonomous Kurdish north. Mr Talabani said the US had humiliated the Kurdish authorities by ignoring their laws and failing to consult them.

Both the Iraqi Kurds and Tehran insist the man was an Iranian trade official in Iraq on the invitation of the Kurds.

Not illogical btw. Iraqis hope Americans will eventually get out of their country – and they might resume normal trade with their neighbors.

Of course, this takes place against the background of US mercenaries taking out more civilians. The mercenaries are ordered out of the country by the “sovereign” government of Iraq. Uncle Sugar tells them to lie low for a couple of days while Condi Rice makes it clear – who really gets to make decisions about governing Iraq.

American diplomats resumed travel Friday in Iraq in convoys escorted by Blackwater USA, the private American security contractor, less than a week after the Iraqi government banned the company for a shooting in which at least eight Iraqis were killed.

It was unclear, however, whether the Iraqi authorities had approved the decision to allow Blackwater to resume operations, and what this resumption of convoy traffic means in the developing dispute between Iraqi and U.S. officials over the use of private security contractors in Iraq.

I know the Iraqis don’t run their own country. You know the Iraqis don’t run anything. Even the nutjobs who parrot the latest neocon talking points know better – they just won’t admit it.

    Apropos.

    Worth repeating.

Hey, just tell them “Its the will of Allah” that will solve a lot of things.

  5. JPV says:

I see that comment are being censored here now.

  6. JPV says:

Odd, they don’t seem to care that 50-60% of the insurgent fighters, in Iraq, are Saudi…

And 15 of the 19 9/11 hijackers were Saudi too.

    Hmmm… I see a pattern forming.

  7. Awake says:

Yeah, that’s the ticket… blame Iran.
    It’s all Iran’s fault.
    – Saddam was being armed by the Iranians do he could attack the USA.
    – The insurgents are all in league with Iran. Invade Iran and the insurgency in Iraq will stop.
    – The 9/11 hijackers were supported by Iran. Heck, most of them were trained by Iran. My friends cousin’s brother-in-law knows someone in the CIA that told him so.
    – Osama bin-Laden is living in luxury in Iran.
    – The WMD’s were secretly moved to Iran and we need to go find them there.
    – Bush intended to invade Iran in the first place, but he got the last letter in the name wrong and invaded the wrong country by accident.
    – The favorite food in Iran is French Fries. Never mind – we love France now, we can call them Freedom fries without irony this time.
    – We need to get back our F-14’s that we sold them 25 years ago before they use them against us.
    – Iranians are just clamoring for liberation, and they will welcome us with song, dance and flowers.
    – The name Iran comes from “I-ran away”, and refers to their armed forces. “Mission accomplished” balls-out photo ops in two weeks max.
    – Iran is just pissed off at us because we insist on calling them Iranians instead of Persians. Well, we are Americans, so we can call them anything we want to!
and so on, and so on…

The sad part is that the above are all probably valid conservative talking points, and the 23% ‘backwash’ will believe it.

Somebody tell me again what all the American blood and money poured all over Iraq has done for us?

Well for one it makes for good comments on DU. 😉

#10 – Bush Republicans or Ahmedinahbut – what’s the difference?

Both are leading their countries based on lies and extremism, fear and false patriotism, ignorance and hate, militarism and personal glory.

Really, there is very little difference between them. Their speeches are interchangeable, just replace the words “Al-Quaida” with “USA” as needed and they can use the same speech writers.

Heck, they both garner about the same amount of respect throughout the world.

Maybe you should hold Bush and his administration to the same standards as those we hold our ‘enemies’.

Illegal espionage, torture, secret prisons, unashamed cronyism, dictatorial attitude, disregard for world opinion, ignorance of history… which person am I talking about… hmm… hard to tell..

King George (Bush) the II is CLASSIC!! LOL!

Is there a suitable for 8×10 framing copy of King George (Bush) the II?

I did a search and could not find it. If someone or the original artist has a image suitable for 8×10 blow up please let me know I would like to print and frame them here for sale – with royalties paid of course!

Please drop me an email – tihz_ho@yahoo.com

    Cheers

You forgot religion…the “In God We Trust” – not your false god only owr true God. Remember the Hindi prayer fiasco in Congress?

On that subject if prayer does get allowed back in schools then I would expect everyone would be ok with allowing Muslims to pray. Oh HELL NO!! Hahahaha!

Why can’t people see how stupid all this is?

    Cheers

  13. MikeN says:

The Iran talk is probably to distract from Syria. Earlier this month Israel ran a secret mission to blow up Syrian nuclear facilities that were being provided by North Korea. They claimed they were delivering cement. Right after that, China cancelled 6 party talks with North Korea. This attack was criticized by Turkey… and North Korea.

  14. Greg Allen says:

If we’re going to bomb Iran for smuggling weapons into Iraq then, to be fair, let’s bomb Blackwater headquarters in Moyock, North Carolina because they’ve also been accused smuggling weapons into Iraq.
