The Indian government has withdrawn a controversial report submitted in court earlier this week which questioned the existence of the Hindu god Ram. The report was presented to the Supreme Court on Wednesday in connection with a case against a proposed shipping canal project between India and Sri Lanka.

Hindu hardliners say the project will destroy what they say is a bridge built by Ram and his army of monkeys.

Scientists and archaeologists say the Ram Setu (Lord Ram’s bridge) – or Adam’s Bridge as it is sometimes called – is a natural formation of sand and stones.

Folks who think India will challenge China for economic and political leadership in the region should step back and look at how theocratic politics in India influences critical decisions.

Hindu Version

In the last two days, the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched a scathing attack on the government for questioning the “faith of the millions”.

Worried about the adverse reaction from the majority Hindu population of the country, the Congress Party-led government has now done a U-turn and withdrawn the statement submitted in court.

How is the Indian government dealing with the controversy? Well, they started by suspending the archaeologists who drafted the report.

  1. Mister Mustard says:

    >>Is it bigotry and hatred to say that Mr. Muster?

I don’t know. You’ll have to ask the Pope. I’m not a papist, so I’m not certified to answer that question.

I guess if you consider all Catholics to be primitive, irrational, ignorant superstitious filthy monkey”, and propose cleansing the USA of them, that would qualify.

  2. JimR says:

You know, if it were not for Ram’s monkey business, India wouldn’t be in this predicament.

And of note, Christians and Muslims also think Adam (of that notorious couple, Adam and Eve) built the bridge.

  3. Ben Waymark says:

    32. And of note, Christians and Muslims also think Adam (of that notorious couple, Adam and Eve) built the bridge.

I do? Is there anything else I think that I should know about?

  4. NappyHeadedHo says:

At least that bridge has lasted longer than the ass monkeys that build bridges in this country.

  5. AdmFubar says:

And never mind that fact that it would run through a national park!!!

  6. Lauren the Ghoti says:

Ah, Ben? – he didn’t say all Christians and Muslims. His statement is correct; there are Christians and Muslims who believe it.

“You gotta work on your pop music cred, Fish Finger. I thought gigolos were good at that stuff? Or was that gay people?”

There you go stereotyping people again…

Let me amend that – I meant to say Opposed Mormon Confabulation Monkey.

    #24 –

“…any of the proposers are described as “filthy monkeys” and told to go back to school.”

When you get in a lather, your reading comprehension appears to plummet. I said “army of filthy minkeys, which refers back to the ‘army of monkeys’ in the title of this thread, and includes a sly usage of Inspector Clouseau‘s mangled mispronunciation of ‘monkey’, something that apparently went over your head like an F-111 over a rice paddy, you pop-culture maven, you… 🙂

  7. AdmFubar says:

and another thing…. why would a god need an army of monkeys??? or an army of anyone for that matter???? they are gods!!!

  8. JimR says:

#37, it’s more fun with an army of monkeys.

  9. Mister Mustard says:

    >>and includes a sly usage of Inspector Clouseau’s
    >>mangled mispronunciation of ‘monkey’

Ooooh, you’re not only dangerous, naughty, free-thinking, unconventional, hip-and-happening and groovy, but you’re so SMART. Imagine! Making a play on trivia from a Pink Panther movie.

Gosh, I can see why older women pay you to fuck them!

    >>Ah, Ben? – he didn’t say all Christians and Muslims.

OK, then, how about this? Atheists are hatemongering, ignorant, sexually repressed, xenophobic monsters who slaughter hundreds of millions in the name of their blind faith in the Religion of Atheism, destroy entire countries to feed their megalomaniacal fantasies, and are impotent.

Can’t argue with that, can ya?. After all, I didn’t say “all”.

  10. Lauren the Ghoti says:

‘Older women’? Sorry, old fruit, but consorting with females over 30 is against my religion…

‘Trivia’? Every connoisseur of English humor recognizes the provenance of ‘minkey’… only you didn’t, did you?

  11. Mister Mustard says:

Lauren, go back to playing video games. You’re in so far over your head, nobody can even see down to where you are.

    Thanks in advance.

  12. Angel H. Wong says:

“Folks who think India will challenge China for economic and political leadership in the region should step back and look at how theocratic politics in India influences critical decisions.”

You don’t have to go that far, just see how many Christians helped Bush Jr. get reelected and then see the results of 4 more years with him in charge.

  13. Jägermeister says:

#2 – Mister Mustard – If I ever want to find some articles hatemongering against those who believe, I fire up dvorak dot org slash blog ASAP.

    You misspelled exposing religious ignorance.

  14. JimR says:

Oh, picky, picky.. it’s a fact that SOME Muslims and Christians believe that Adam built Ram Setu. That’s why it is also called Adam’s Bridge.

Gee I feel so dirty posting a fact to a Christian who could easily look it up himself. But as is expected and typical of ALL Christians (otherwise you couldn’t be Christians), it’s easier to suppress facts, ignore logic and hide from the truth so that you can assimilate all the fairy tales of the bible and preach them with a straight face.

But why would I say such a thing? Well mister Muster, you are the epitome of Christendom even though you use profanity as a ruse. It has been perfectly illustrated to you, in a logical, factual manner… proof… that NOT believing in any gods whatsoever, is in itself not a religion by any NORMAL stretch of the imagination. And yet, it’s as if you never heard a word on the subject. All portals to reason are closed to you, where it concerns your god.

And, having a potty mouth only weakens your position further, although if there were a god, I’m sure He (the chauvinist pig) would be cursing continually at the total fuck-up he’s created.

  15. Mister Mustard says:

    >>You misspelled exposing religious ignorance.

No, Mr. Meister, I looked it up in the dictionary. My original post stands:

“If I ever want to find some articles hatemongering against those who believe, I fire up dvorak dot org slash blog ASAP.”

If you want to find evidence of ignorance, look to thine own. Anyone who proudly declares his mind to be permanently and irrevocably closed has a whole lot of learning to do before they grow up.

  16. JimR says:

Just to be clear “… cursing continually at the total fuck-up he’s created” refers to humanity as a whole, and not to anyone (ahem) personally. 🙂

  17. Gary Marks says:

There is a god, her name is “Big Bang,” and she’s full of energy. This could very well explain occasional orgasms which some have described as “explosive.” I bet you can’t locate her G-spot, but you’re welcome to buy a telescope and take a peep.

There’s even evidence that my god exists.

Nice substantive reply, Mr. Meister. Are you studying under the Fish FInger King, or what? A photoshopped dog. Sheesh.

Ya, and YOU are starting to piss us off.

No need to blow a fuse on his stupid posts… after all, he’s the idiot who believes that the first woman was created from a rib of a man.

Oh boo hoo. Boo frickety hoo. Why don’t you and your juvenile friends go back to jerking off to the Britney vids, Pissile Boy?

    >>after all, he’s the idiot who believes that the first woman was
    >>created from a rib of a man.

Heh. Heheheheheh. Just like I voted for George Bush, huh? Mr. Meister, you are submerging in the same slime that has covered Lauren the Fish. I hope you don’t start smelling like him. Based on your analysis of my beliefs, I’m not too confident…..

  24. Mister Mustard says:

    >>Daddy Mustard and Mister Mustard…

You may rest assured that if that scumbag ever touched me, I would surely be bawling like the baby in the pic. wtf kind of parent lets a chimpanzee touch their child?

  25. MikeN says:

India will pass China because they have managed to increase their populations without caving into Muslim fundamentalism.

  26. JimR says:

  27. TIHZ_HO says:

“Folks who think India will challenge China for economic and political leadership in the region should step back and look at how theocratic politics in India influences critical decisions.”

Money has the nasty habit of pushing through all the bullshit. E.G. China is a great example.

Private Chinese companies have already begun investment into India. India is seen by many Chinese business people as China 20 years ago. Add to this the fact that Indians are like the Chinese, they know how to make a buck. So put the two together – look out! 😆

Case and point: For a year and a half we have been in discussions with various American companies to be our distributor in the US…on and on it goes. A few months ago we meet some Indians who have a branch office in Chicago. They liked what we have and we quickly came to an agency agreement and our first container left last month. We asked them why the American companies take so long to do anything and they said “They are stupid with business but smart with bullshit”.

    Cheers

  28. ECA says:

religion is Justification, for ALL the wrongs you do…
    Jesus Made me do it…
    That DONT work for me.

  29. Ben Waymark says:

    60. Good point. I am sure every time a rapists a rapes, a robbers robs and con artists con, he thinks ‘Jesus makes me do this’ and that is all. If it weren’t for religion, I am sure that all the bad people would disappear, people would loose weight and quite smoking. Kids would stop eating so much junk food. Drivers would slow down at pedestrian crossings. The world is going to be great.
