A commercial crematorium in Israel has been heavily damaged by fire, hours after its secret location was revealed in an ultra-Orthodox Jewish newspaper.
The crematorium near Tel Aviv opened two years ago to fierce criticism from Israel’s orthodox community.
Yehud Meshi Zahav told Israeli Army Radio he thought an arson attack on the crematorium would be justified. “It was an illegal activity, a desecration of the dead and I applaud the destruction of this building, which was destined to disappear in flames.”

What I see, is that MANY who decry against Religion are those that UNDERSTAND it better, and see those IN IT, NOT practicing it. And then are dissuaded in becoming AS those they are going to church with.

I think any of these people who are caught red-handed — as in, they’re intercepted driving a truckload of primed bombs; or they’re observed or found frequenting in a storehouse full of similar weaponry — they should be video-recording being publicly burned at the stake. Then, edit in clerics of all religions condemning this sort of activity, then put the video on a {U.N.-owned} public website like http://www.freedomtube.com (strip ownership away from the current loser camper).

Well, Rob R, they also twist things to smear atheism – Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, these guys went after the churches NOT because they were believers in any deity or deities, but because they were the only ubiquitous social structures that stood in the way of Communism, which, last I checked, was a political system and not a religious sect.
But religious sects of believers in deities that have slaughtered members of other sects of believers are more numerous than you can count…

It remains true that people who can justify believing in irrational things can justify ANY irrational act, since rationality – sanity – is unimportant to them. Atheists are atheists because it’s rational to be rational. Unlike religionists, they don’t coerce others to change their beliefs – because, just like believing in a mythical deity that “approves” of inhuman acts, that’s NOT rational.
