The Register – August 17, 2007:

According to stats from the week ending August 5th, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 sold 10.32 million, Nintendo’s Wii followed with 10.10 million. They led war between the consoles and the PS3 was languishing with only 4.11 million units sold worldwide.

New data shows that in a frame of one week, 310,000 Wii’s got new owners – Xbox 360 was sold in decent 110.000 units, while PS3 sold only 50,000 units. New numbers keep Xbox 360 in the lead with 10.43 million, Wii is now a close second with 10.41 million and PS3 remains the backmarker with 4.16 million consoles sold.

Since the site will not be updated until next week, Wii has probably already outsold Xbox 360 and now has the lead in the console war.

Of course not everyone agrees that Nintendo will be able to sustain the success of the Wii. PS3 and 360 fanboys, er, I mean neutral industry pundits say:

“The Wii will fade,” they say, suggesting that the machine’s novel motion-controls and antiquated graphics technology will soon cause the system to wane in popularity.

AND the DS, is the winner by ALONG shot…

  2. JPV says:

    Who cares…

  3. god says:

I prefer (enjoy?) the rumor that Apple is going to buy Nintendo.

  4. Cinaedh says:

    What Wii?

Someone should tell Leah Abdenour most tennis players are clad in underwear beneath their skirts.

    Or not tell her that…

  5. Mister Mustard says:

Nice. She doesn’t even have a Panama City license plate/ tramp stamp. You don’t see that too often anymore.

  6. Mister Mustard says:

With the exception of (maybe) Maria Sharapova or Anna Kournikova, most tennis players don’t look like Leah Abdenour.

  7. jlm says:

I didnt buy any of this current generation of gaming consoles, but the only one that I even considered buying was the WII. XBox360 and PS3 are just the same old tune with updated graphics, WII was the only one to do something truly different. By the time it “fades” we will be on the next generation, so it doesnt really help them anyway

  8. Les says:

What no NSFW photos? Now I’m bummed out.

  9. Sure would love to go fishing with those girls as long as they bring along their wii

  10. steelcobra says:

I plan on buying all three, but I have the sneaking suspicion that my Wii will end up like my Gamecube: sitting waiting for a decent game that’s not on the other consoles.

Yeah. But those two do favor underwear. I know because I checked it out, dirty old man that I am.

  12. hhopper says:

Playing the Wii is totally different from playing regular video games. It’s an absolute riot when four people are playing!

  13. Mister Mustard says:

    >>Yeah. But those two do favor underwear.

So now we’ve got the Service Pack 1 upgrade. Life is good.

Yah, ’cause what’s really important is how it looks, not how much fun and stimulation you get from it… of course, I’m talking about the game, not the girl…

I just remember my neighbor’s kids pushing aside the Genesis and Super Nintendo when I broke out my ColecoVision and Atari 2600. They kept coming back, and brought friends for days…

By the way, will somebody tell the mostly hot babe in the pic that you don’t need the nunchuck connected for tennis or golf.

    I doubt it, they lost

And if that happens, then they will sell a prettier version of the Wii but it will cost as

    Grrr… Damn keyboard.

I doubt it, they lost millions with their priced Pippin which is remarkably identical to the PS3 in terms of design and price.

And if that ever happens, then they will sell a prettier version of the Wii but it will cost even more than the PS3 just because its designed was approved by Steve Jobs.

  17. James Hill says:

My guess is that, with little effort, we can find another whore who uses her Wii much more liberally.

    #19 & #20

That’s why the Wiimote vibrates, I can’t wait for someone on linux to hack their signal to make some chicks use them as vibrators.
