it would be alomost like shooting fish in a barrel, only if you had no idea what so ever what shooting fish in a barrel was all about.

  4. Cinaedh says:

Isn’t it more like shooting fish not in a barrel – like way, way out of the barrel?

…or am I being too literal here?

My brother goes bow hunting for I believe gar fish, at night in the swamps with a spotlight shining into the water. Crazy if you ask me. He’s definitely more comfortable on the water than I am.

There’s also a device you can use to reproduce this jumping effect with little electrical rods going into the water on spreaders attached to the sides of the boat. I noticed this video fish jumping only in close proximity to the boat. Could still be just the motor or another device on board.

They gotta kill all these carp or they’re going to absolutely ruin the ecosystem. I’m guessing the right people are on the job in this video.

Those bow fishin’ rigs cost upwards of $500. That’s some serious sport, not including the $30K boat (and maybe a cold one). Shooting them in the air is cheating. Shooting them sight fishin’ when they’re underwater is tough.

Maybe you could fish with the pros — just for fun on a Saturday, watch this great blooper reel of Bill Dance:

I always figured shotting fish in a barrel would blow the bottom out of the barrel and they’d be a hell of a mess on somebodies floor.
