That’s insane. I just watched this live in a restaurant at lunch. Then walked back to work and it’s already online? Just crazy.
Godamn! They should give him a gold metal for walking away from that!
Ozzie ozzie ozzie, oi! oi oi!
The Dvorak Uncensored team is quite proficient at finding stuff 😉
Yeah, I was watching this live in a bar last night. He was laying there like ten minutes before his got up and walked away. Crazy!
Lucky dude. I’m sure Nike wasn’t sponsoring him… or at least they don’t want to acknowledge it.
They never tie their shoes… too cool for that!
#7 – Mister Justin
Thanks. I wonder if they’re too cool for vehicle seat belts as well…
Hilarious!
holy crap. yikes!
My stomach hurts from the stress of just watching him fall. Ow.
That helmet saved his life.
There’s nothing remotely funny about watching someone take a slam like that. Jake is a great guy – gutsy, talented and humble.
Everyone in the skate world is very glad Jake is doing well, and should be released from the hospital today.
I seem to recall a skydiver, whose parachute did not open. He hit the ground, got up and walked away.
Just goes to show that if you land just right, the human body can survive almost any fall.
No, just goes to show that safety equipment will save your ass. Guys that think they’re macho and don’t wear it are idiots.
Awesome jump.
Webster’s dictionary should get a picture of this guy for the deffinition of the word “Hardcore”
This is as bad as:
Gofer screams 4”’
Ball hits tree and returns….
OWWW!
The judges give him 10.0 for a face plant!
I can’t believe they let him get up and walk away like that. Apparently (according to #13) he was hospitalized, so he must have been injured somewhat. Regardless of weather or not he wanted to get up, they should have taken him away on a stretcher, with a neck brace, and a back board.
That’s whether, not weather… long day at work.
Just to add this again (I posted the same comment on the video of the bridge collapse):
Where are all the idiots who should be saying “OMFG!!!11!!!!1 THIS IS SO TOTALLY OFFENSIVE! I DEMAND YOU TAKE THIS OFF YOUR PERSONAL BLOG….NOW!!!!1! I’M NEVER VISITING THIS PIECE OF SHIT SITE EVER AGAIN! MORANS!!!!!1”?
Or are they only offended when their narrow view of the world is expanded?
Nice comment natefrog. I’m glad people think the same way I do.
I’m glad to hear that Mr. Brown is okay. He accomplished an amazing feat. What happened to him is a risk he took. Could’ve happened to anybody.
#22, Raul,
I’m glad to hear that Mr. Brown is okay. He accomplished an amazing feat. What happened to him is a risk he took. Could’ve happened to anybody.
Yes, the gene pool is overjoyed that someone that does this for a living lived.
Yes, landing on your head after a 50 fall off of a skate board is an amazing feat. Not everyone is capable falling off their skateboard.
Yes, my 52 y/o mother just bought a new helmet for when she skates. Just in case she falls off her skate board.
the X in x-games is really a variable representing their missing brains. Retards.
And just what sport is safe? You want safe… read a blog. Oh damn, we are. I guess none of us are also skateboarding simultaneously — unless someone is borrowing John’s iPhone while attempting a 50 foot face plant.
I understand that next year the X-Games promoters are going to have a ramp built at the Grand Canyon.
Seriously, that ramp is ridiculous. Seems like all these “extreme” sports are sliding into bloodsport territory. They also had a guy on a dirtbike do a double backflip. See it here:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=sf4698CiMfQ
Quite a few guys have died just attempting a single backflip. This will continue until someone dies live on network TV.
@ Mark T.
“This will continue until someone dies live on network TV.”
You can’t see this on “live… network TV” in the USA. It will be quickly edited and cut. If not, the FCC sues the station for showing “inappropriate” things on air. Silly Americans.
Raul
This was a live broadcast, right? It says “X Games Live” in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
Heck, they can’t even stop the occasional F-bomb without a time delay, which few networks seem to bother with. The networks usually show it live then cut to commercial once they realize someone is hurt, dead, or dying, much like they do with auto racing. They only show it once and won’t replay it until they know he has survived. Then they replay it ceaselessly.
If they can show Clint Malarchuk getting his throat sliced open I think they can show someone falling to the their death. Hell, remember all the footage of people jumping out of the twin towers?
