BBC News | In pictures: Living with the floods, — Here is a great sideshow of the amazing floods in the UK. Curiously this spectacular event — which continues with more flooding expected — is getting very little USA coverage as our media is living under a rock.

Little coverage? It’s even being covered on the small local news station in Northern Michigan. I wonder how much they were hearing about the floods in Texas. Flooding news rarely makes it outside of any countries boundaries. Why is this one so different?

No “end of times” banner? Tsk, tsk. 😉

The US is still reporting on Katrina. This will get some play, a year from now.

What do you mean, our media is living under a rock? Are we all not aware of Lindsay Lohan’s latest DUI?

And things we don’t want to know about? Attorney General Gonzalez is protecting us from learning them.

    So what’s your problem.

They are covering the hell out of it on CNN and MSNBC. I am watching a story right now on CNN about it. They have repeated this same story at least 3 times today.

Everytime I see that someone claims there was no coverage on the news I have to wonder is it that the news didn’t give it fair coverage or is it that the person watching that just doesn’t give it the attention it deserves until all of a sudden it hits them that this is happening.

Thank goodness chest waders and hip boots never went out of fashion over there.

It’s being covered here in the bay area. I have watched local coverage of the flooding off and on since last week.

How are you guys going to blame Bush for this flood?

CNN and MSNBC are news? Wow, you learn something everyday.

Unlike most IDIOTS in this country, I don’t get my news from TV. As far as this story, I have seen very little coverage of it on the Internet. I’m assuming the editors of this site must be doing the same thing. In that respect, they do seem to be correct.

This is what the skinny, buck toothed, apathic, pasty white and unsanitary Brittish men get for stealing the hearts of overweight, bossy, selfish, overdemanding and high maintenance American women.

Your only an idiot if you cant filter out the bullshit. Which you apparently are unable to do.

Only an IDIOT would get there news from only one medium!

As far as the internet for news….Well it really depends on where you go on the web to get your news. Most of the reliable sources are owned by large media corporations. LOL

The internet is not just USA coverage. It is world wide. Hence the term World Wide Web. So I doubt that is what is meant. Even further I have found many many stories about the flooding going on over there on the web. So, that just isnt the case.

Maybe you would be better informed if you didnt limit the places you look for information.

And yes CNN and MSNBC are new channels. My guess is they provide more news in 24 hours even with all the other bullshit they put on than any internet webpage. Except those owned by large media corps which is really the same thing.
