I thought the U.S.A. was founded on the bedrock principle of LIBERTY. And isn’t one who believes in Liberty, a LIBERAL?
So you’re trying to say that T.Jefferson, only one of the founding fathers, appearing in a liberal/commie cartoon is supposed to out weigh all the other papers and documents from the other founding fathers.
Exactly why did T.Jefferson make referance to God in the Declaration of Independance? I suppose that was just a lie and just for effect, you know for all the ignorant masses, the poor people of the country, the people that you claim to champion – which is again just cover for the liberal/demoncrats trying to have their perverted way with little boys and girls.
Let’s see the worst dictators in history – Stalin/Atheist – Hitler/Atheist – Pol Pot/Atheist – Tito/Atheist – Idi Amin/Atheist – Ms Clinton/Pagan. – Which dictators were Christian? Even if you think Bush is a dictator, that’s a lie – look at the Immigration Bill, the Wire Tapping probe, etc. No real dictator would allow that, ie. Hugo Rafael Chávez is now showing.
>>Hitler/ Atheist
Hmmm. Then how to you explain this quote from Hitler:
“Hence today I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord.”
Doesn’t sound particularly atheistic to me. But maybe I misundersand the meaing of “Almighty Creator” (capitalized as per Hitler) and “Lord” (capitalized as per Hitler.
and
>Ms Clinton/ Pagan
Ms Clinton is a Methodist.
Your cred is rapidly swirling down the crapper, Traax.

It’s the Deist ‘God’, not the Xian or Christian god, check out The Age Of Reason, by Thomas Paine

#31, traaxx:
You’re wrong about a few things:
First, “Creator” does not equal a “Christian God.” Thomas Jefferson was a deist, if you must know, and didn’t believe in Christianity as it was back then, or is now.
Second, in case you haven’t noticed, “God,” “Christianity,” or any other religion is specifically not mentioned in our Constitution. Given the majority of the founding fathers were religious men (albeit deists), I would argue their exclusion of religion from the Constitution speaks volumes about what they believed religion’s role in government should be…
Further, your assertion that some of the most heinous leaders in world history were atheists contains at least three inaccuracies. Hitler was in fact a Christian, Stalin quite likely was Russian Orthodox (Christian), and Hillary is a Methodist. Nice attempted smear of Hillary by including her in this group, very clever</sarcasm>.
The cartoon above is just really not worth a debate, even this one. It shows a depiction of fantasy attitudes, as interperted by it’s author, and more accurately, by the left, to incite the Great American Sheeple into a left handed tailspin over nothing, this never happened nor will it. Thomas Jefferson and Sean Hannity have more in common than anyone would like to admit.
#35, Padraic,
Thomas Jefferson and Sean Hannity have more in common than anyone would like to admit.
Holy Shit !!! They both have black mistresses !!!
>>Thomas Jefferson and Sean Hannity have more in common
>>than anyone would like to admit.
You can say it, but that don’t make it so. Care to list a half-dozen or so “things” they “have in common”.
And don’t try the “black mistress” thing; Mr. Fusion has already pointed that out!
Six more.
#37 Mr Mustard-Head
1. supported the separation of church and state
2. promotion of the ideals of Republicanism in the United States
3. political philosopher
4. man of the Enlightenment
5. believes the national government is a dangerous necessity to be instituted for the common benefit, protection, and security of the people, nation or community; it should be watched closely and circumscribed in its powers
6. writings were utilitarian and evidenced great intellect.
Need more??? See Wikipedia…
NOTE,
In #39 I should have pointed out that I am quoting joshua with the comment:
Fact is common law derived from canon law …
It is after that that there should be a delineation before I quote the rebuttal. My apology for any confusion.
>>writings were utilitarian and evidenced great intellect.
Paddy, if you’re implying that any of the items in your list apply to Hannity, I suggest that you’ve gotten too many Loofah scrubs from O’Reilly. Good grief.
Mr Mustard,
You asked and I provided… don’t make light of the facts and try to sound like Charlie Brown…
Paddy, there isn’t a fucking item in your list that even closely resembles anything Hannity has ever done, thought about, or would be capable of doing if he wanted to. Even if he had O’Reilly scrubbing him with a Loofah pad.
Unless if by “promotion of the ideals of Republicanism in the United States” you mean he has his head stuck up George Bush’s ass.
I’m still waiting for some examples. Please provide, or STFU.
Thanks in advance.

Hell, bad idea, no one wants to go there. So create snake and apple – Assign Eve to administer booking arrangements.
IMPORTANT: Create lawyers so hell looks like a reasonable alternative. 😉

#23 – Sea Lawyer,
May I assume you are a libertarian? Or, are you actually a modern republican, i.e. neocon? If the former, I think we liberals and libertarians need to recognize that we have far more in common than we have differences. Both liberal and libertarian believe strongly in individual rights and liberties.
This is a crucial similarity. This is the reason that I can respect the libertarian’s freedom-to-starve philosophy. I don’t agree with it. But, I can respect it.
In this day and age, all people who don’t want some form of totalitarian or theocratic government should be looking for our similarities.
You are afraid of government providing basic life-sustaining services, presumably because you are either A) selfish and want to keep every dollar you earn or B) simply fear government. I can respect either position. I am a liberal because I believe the basic life-sustaining services can be better provided by an incompetent and inefficient government than they can be by greedy competent corporate thieves.
I think you should get off your holier-than-thou, my-way-or-the-highway, kind of thinking and admit that there are other valid world views that may be held by decent moral individuals and that all such individuals need to stop xenophobically fearing each other and come together at this very dangerous time in history to fight against theocracy and totalitarianism.
Mr Mustard
Hey, you asked and I provided, now you can’t handle it. You make me laugh… now you can STFU.
#32 – Traxx – Blow me.
#47 – You did provide anything. You just listed things that subjectively describe Jefferson, and implied that these also describe Hannity, which any reasonable observer knows is a crock.
Jefferson was a statesmen and the principle architect of American Liberty.
Hannity is a talking head, peddling political blather as entertainment, pandering to the lowest values of the American zeitgeist.
It is offensive to say the least that anyone would compare Hannity positively to almost any of our founding fathers. I suppose it should be expected. The right hasn’t been interested in American values or liberties in quite some time.
#15 – Here’s your chance to define yourself.
However I would bet my 401K I’m right.
#50, which DD214 of mine would you like to see then, the first time I was in, or the second? How much is that 401K of yours worth?
32.
Traaxx, you are about as sharp as a Krispy Kreme doughnut
#49, OFTLO,
Well there was that one guy. He was a Revolutionary General too. Dapper, well dressed, articulate, brave, dashing, well connected, etc., etc. I think his name was Benedict Arnold.
I don’t know if one would include him as a founding father. Maybe just another asshole, like Hannity, who hates America.
#51, See Lawyer,
As Sounds said, it is easy to claim anything behind the anonymity of the internet. The easiest way to detect a fraud though is when they claim a special privilege simply because of their history. The most common is military service.
In #14, Sounds challenged Hannity on his military service. He is one who calls others cowards yet has not served himself. That is important and common public knowledge.
From your reaction, I don’t believe you did serve. If you did, then you served in a reserve capacity and NOT in a full time unit. You don’t have what it takes to be in the military today.
That is just my opinion based upon YOUR reactions to others.
#40, Padraic:
To refute your statements of fact (which are either untrue or just statements of opinion on your part):
1. supported the separation of church and state
False. Hannity does not support this.
2. promotion of the ideals of Republicanism in the United States
False. Republicanism is a vastly different thing today than it was 230 years ago. But feel free to discredit your argument by believing otherwise.
3. political philosopher
4. man of the Enlightenment
Claiming that Hannity is either of these is merely an opinion at best, and a laughable one at that.
6. writings were utilitarian and evidenced great intellect.
If you honestly believe Hannity’s intellect is on par with our Founding Fathers’ intelligence, you certainly know very little about our Founding Fathers.
As for point number five, provide some supporting evidence for your opinion.
That’s all folks, it’s time to put up, or shut up.
Oops, forgot to terminate my bolding after my second “False”. Sorry…
#51 – Hey if you did serve, great. Truly my hats off to you.
What was your MOS?
#54, haha, actually, I think I made the original comment about anonymous posts on the internet. And I’m fairly confident in my ability of comprehension, so that when he says Hannity should put his money where his mouth is and then adds “Maybe you can too.,” it’s pretty clear that he is challenging me as well.
I don’t don’t go around volunteering my history on internet forums unless it is a) relevant to the topic, or b) I have to respond to some dipshit behind a keyboard whose arguments fall back on assumptions about people he has no real knowledge of. But as we both agree, it generally means nothing in a forums such as this. So since that is the case, I suppose we can just be content with you thinking I’m a chicken-hawk college student who’s never had to work for anything, and I’ll tell myself that you are some lonely 40 year old still living in your parent’s basement who reads just enough about random stuff to seem to others that you know what the hell you are talking about as long as the discussion doesn’t get too specific.
I do think that it is accurate though to say that none of us have enough to do in our real jobs, so that we can waste our time here pontificating about mostly unimportant topics behind the safety of a veil. In fact, I’ve already shown my hand in that regard… maybe you should do a little google search on what the term “sea lawyer” means.
Fair enough? 😀
58—I didn’t know that was a defined term. Here is the first entry of my google search for “sea lawyer”
SEA LAWYER, n. One who attempts to shirk responsibility or blame through trivial technicalities. [This word is used chiefly in the Navy and at the Naval Academy to describe a midshipman or officer who uses technicalities and other trivial excuses to escape responsibility or punishment. Based on the popular stereotype of lawyers always arguing technicalities and trivial details coupled with the fact that the Navy is closely associated with water and the sea. ]
Context and source: “Most sea lawyers are not well respected by their classmates. (A Sense of Honor by James Webb)
I haven’t seen that in your posts. You must be thinking of some other definition?
#57, not that it particularly matters, but I was a 4067 for eight years in the Marines. But they decided to get rid of us in favor for relying on contractors (short-sighted in my view, but reasonable I guess when you need to find structure space for more bullet catchers and the like), so I got out, finished my degree and now work in a more interesting field. But as Fusion alluded to, and I am in complete agreement, prior military service is about as much a qualification in general discussions as Rudy Guliani implying that his being mayor of New York during 9/11 qualifies him as an expert in foreign affairs (which the previous Republican debates have shown he is not). So having said that, lack of service also doesn’t prejudice my opinion about the validity if people’s views either. Especially not in a forum such as this.
#59, yep, it’s slang for somebody who claims to know everything about everything, and especially how to get around regulations and such.
