  1. Nicky says:

If he makes like some sort of vinyl platform below he could use it like a self-propelling boat. Would be really nice I think.

  2. Don Moore says:

You should check out the Street Plane in Greensboro, NC. This street legal bicycle is the creation of a local poet/writer/blogger. He even pulls an advertising banner behind the plane like planes at the beach.

  3. Arrius says:

Ahhh cool bike *runs to look closer* … WACK WACK WACK *is slashed to ribbons*

  4. TJGeezer says:

There’s a wonderful flavor of anarchy about this thing – no wonder it upsets some cops, security guards and (no doubt) authoritarians in general. Goofing is its own reward. Heh.

  5. iGlobalWarmer says:

Why wouldn’t you want to build something like this?

  6. hhopper says:

It’s a really cool bike…fairly useless but really cool. I’m sorry they didn’t shoot any night video.

  7. GregA says:

I really admire the initiative to build something like that, but it just seems to me if you want to build a spinny blades of death device it should be gasoline powered.

  8. John Paradox says:

    Woman backs into propellor

    Disaster

    J/P=?

  9. BubbaRay says:

SN, check out this jet powered bicycle!

  10. Mr. Fusion says:

I question the wisdom of building something like this. The energy loss must be way over 50% compared to a direct drive bicycle. As several others have already mentioned, those spinning blades are a hazard.

Doing something just because you can does not imply intelligence. Solving a problem does.

  11. SN says:

    10. I agree. Whenever I’m faced with this sort of project, I think how utterly complex and amazing it would be to build a popsicle stick bridge to the moon. And how equally pointless it would be. Merely because something is complex, difficult, or amazing to accomplish, does not in itself provide a basis to do it.
