So sue me » Blog Archive » iPhone Independence Day — Looks like the fabled DVD Jon is on the Apple iPhone hack squad. Expect a fully unlocked phone usable on any network with exchangeable SIM cards any day now. Too funny.
I’ve found a way to activate a brand new unactivated iPhone without giving any of your money or personal information to AT&T NSA. The iPhone does not have phone capability, but the iPod and WiFi work. Stay tuned!
Can DVD Jon hack my cellphone back to work. By coincidence it stopped working on Independence Day.
Cute, but not too useful, if you can’t use it on another cell phone network. I guess there are people who have an extra $600 lying around for a cell phone + gadgets where the cell phone part doesn’t work, but I’m not one of them.
Just wait.
Apple products cant be hacked, can they?
mark – of course they can. Their touted security applies to remote access, not this type of hack.
If an attacker has physical access to your machine… well, you’re pretty much screwed.
I’m yet to see the point of iPhone hacks yet. I was with Cingular before.. so it made no difference to me about the carrier. When they start doing things that make it more useful, rather than a really expensive wi-fi enabled iPod… then I’ll be interested.
Frankly I’m amazed that this sort of hack took as long as it did. I expected this before July 1st! 😉
Our company has prohibited use of the iPhone for storing and transmitting corporate information, because
the iPhone lacks adequate information security controls such as:
-Central policy control
-Encryption of the device contents (8GB drive)
-Adequate password controls
