Sounds like Al applied some wise guy muscle like Tony with an offer that can’t be refused.

Or could it be that as Prez of Paramount Brad Grey was interested in creating good will with a potential Prez of the US of A who might then side with the MPAA in allowing intrusive tactics to find film pirates as a return favor? Naaaa. That could never happen. I do wonder what other favors of a tad more important nature can real and potential candidates get or have gotten? Ah, what a system we have. At least we aren’t like so many tin pot dictatorships where Haliburton (don’t ya just love that connection?) cases filled with money go to… Oh, yeah. Forgot about Watergate.

Al Gore’s Top-Secret Access for the Final ‘Sopranos’ Episode

Who knew that tree-hugging ex-politicians loved “The Sopranos”? It turns out that Al Gore is a die-hard fan, but when the series finale loomed in early June, he and his wife, Tipper, had to be on a plane for an appearance in Istanbul.

So Mr. Gore, now better known as the star of “An Inconvenient Truth” than as the former vice president of the United States, called Brad Grey, the chairman of Paramount whose studio distributed his documentary, for a favor. Mr. Grey is also an executive producer of “The Sopranos,” from his previous incarnation as a Hollywood manager. Could Mr. Gore get an advance copy of the final episode, he wanted to know?

No way, said Mr. Grey. “I’ve turned down everyone who’s asked,” he recalled telling Mr. Gore. That episode was the holy grail, and he couldn’t risk it being leaked.

Pretty good, stars and bars. A sleazy article from the Heartland Institute, one of the more reactionary think tanks that characterizes itself as “anti-Kyoto, pro-GM”. Yeah, let’s put Detroit back in charge of environmental concerns.

Try for some peer-reviewed science sources next time you trot out your head-in-the-sand politics. That is, if you could find any that agree with flat earth crocks.

And, now – who the hell cares that Al Gore knew the ending to The Sopranos – and he’s building what alliances on the basis of that earth-shattering info? Get the tinfoil hats out, again, folks.

If you will read the article and produce more than a Pavlovian response, you will see that the articles cited are “peer-reviewed”. We wouldn’t want to confuse anyone with the facts not to mention real science.

So does anyone still want to deny that Algore is an elitist who thinks he’s more “special” than the rest of us?

I tell you, some people need lessons in how to read. Of course it doesn’t matter about the Sopranos. The point is he’s a big, important, potential candidate for prez. That’s why he got what he wanted. Don’t think for a minute Grey won’t want something in return in the future.

The point of my editorializing was what other really important info, perks, etc are the other candidates getting to curry favor beyond bribes (er, um, I mean contributions)? I guess you just have to spell things out for some people. Cripes!

Your stupid, unscientifically peer reviewed article
“Glaciers are growing in the Himalayan Mountains, confounding global warming alarmists who recently claimed the glaciers were shrinking and that global warming was to blame.”

    The truth
The observed downward trend in summer temperature and runoff is consistent with the observed thickening and expansion of Karakoram glaciers, in contrast to widespread decay and retreat in the eastern Himalayas. This suggests that the western Himalayas are showing a different response to global warming than other parts of the globe.

Your stupid, unscientifically peer reviewed article,
“Although it’s tempting to blame the ice loss on global warming, researchers think that deforestation of the mountain’s foothills is the more likely culprit.

    The truth
New research from NASA scientists suggests emissions of black soot alter the way sunlight reflects off snow. …

(the study author) cautioned, although the role of soot in altering global climate is substantial, it does not alter the fact greenhouse gases are the primary cause of climate warming during the past century.

…scientists believe the snow cap of Mount Kilimanjaro will be gone in two decades. Researchers say the ice fields on Africa’s highest mountain shrank by 80 percent in the past century. The snow cap formed some 11,000 years ago.

A You Tube video is your evidence???? Well I guess if it was peer reviewed by a bunch of fucking You Tube morani that might count for something in your book.

    #12,

    from the NY Times article, which you claimed exposes Gore’s fiction;
“He’s a very polarizing figure in the science community,” said Roger A. Pielke Jr., an environmental scientist who is a colleague of Dr. Vranes at the University of Colorado center. “Very quickly, these discussions turn from the issue to the person, and become a referendum on Mr. Gore.”

He clearly has supporters among leading scientists, who commend his popularizations and call his science basically sound. …
“He has credibility in this community,” said Tim Killeen, the group’s president and director of the National Center for Atmospheric Research, a top group studying climate change.

Yup. They really exposed him. Oh wait. They merely quoted some scientist that didn’t agree with Gore. Forget that these scientists are in the minority.

    #13,

Yup, we keep accurate statistics on Mars and have compared them to historical records to accurately demonstrate their climate change.

That brain wash used on Right Wing Nut Neo-con Conservative Evangelical Republican talk radio leaves a fucking retarded after glow.

    #14,

    You wrote
Why all this if Global Warming is not caused by humans?

    Here’s why

Then in your very quote is the refutation to your argument.

…All these dangers are caused by human intervention and it is only through changed attitudes and behavior that they can be overcome. The real enemy, then, is humanity itself.”

If you plan on refuting someone’s point then it helps if you actually bring some evidence. Just saying it ain’t so doesn’t automatically make your version the defacto truth.

  18. Mr. Fusion says:

    #18, Confederate Traiter,

Did you watch the “You Tube” video?
It’s a clip from a BBC Documentary titled “The Great Global Warming Swindle”

Why? You discount An Inconvenient Truth because it is itself a documentary. I don’t have to waste my time on You Tube to know that that is not a reputable source. If you want to use the BBC as a source, then try using the BBC where the probability of an unaltered story is better.

…time and time again you and others who respond on this site employ the “consensus” argument. The notion that a consensus exist between “the world’s top scientists” is a club used to bludgeon those who disagree with your position.

Show me ONE time where I used a “consensus” argument. You know that is a crock. What is true though is the vast majority of earth scientists are convinced global warming is happening and at least partially human caused. Disagreement and debate in the scientific community is good.

    *

Benny Peiser didn’t get his letter published in a peer reviewed publication. So he whined. I quit reading after half way because he had yet to present any evidence. He listed two articles that were tepid in position. He didn’t even explain if these happened to be included in the original study. If I were the editor of the publication, I would decline his letter as well.

Paul Rieter is an etymologist (insect scientist). No, I didn’t waste my time reading the whole thing because after 1,000 words he had yet to pronounce anything on the global warming debate or explain his expertise on the subject.

Chris Lansea, Are you effen nuts? I read his entire letter and NOT ONCE did he deny global warming.
…the evidence is quite strong and supported by the most recent credible studies that any impact in the future from global warming upon hurricane will likely be quite small. He then quoted a study claiming hurricane strength would only grow by 5%, which is still an increase in my book.

Sounds like he accepts global warming is a fact even if he disagrees with some effects. His letter also told of his hurt feelings because another scientist stole his thunder. Again he presented no evidence that global warming is not happening.

    Liepzig Declaration
Says nothing except they disagree. No evidence.

Christopher Monkton? A piece written in a right wing newspaper? Biased journalism at its best. Lots of criticism but no actual refutation or evidence presented.

All your references seem problematic. I didn’t look at them all as I had wasted enough time with those I had looked at. REFERENCE A STUDYTHAT SHOWS GLOBAL WARMING IS FALSE !!! It doesn’t matter how many idiots you reference, they still remain idiots.

Which takes me back to the topic. Because Al Gore told an inconvenient truth, you slander the man. Challenge the message. Present you evidence. But quit shooting the messenger.

  19. Stars & Bars says:

    Mr. Fizzle,

“For those who believe, no explanation is necessary. For those who do not believe, no explanation is possible.” Unknown

You are a true believer. You comprehended nothing your read. Please continue to hug your trees (oops, trees produce CO2) better chop them down…fast.

“consensus” argument and you. The term you employ is peer review and you use it constantly when defending the bogus theory. Please see your post above, #8.

REFERENCE A STUDY THAT SHOWS GLOBAL WARMING IS FALSE !!! There is no such study. Global Warming exist, so does Global Cooling. Neither one is caused by the actions of humans. Re #14, The Club of Rome. They admit it’s all fiction to manipulate humanity.
