A Japanese software maker plans to launch a skincare guide for use on Nintendo Co. Ltd.’s hot-selling portable game gear DS, giving beauty tips based on users’ basal body temperature and hormone balance.
Konami Corp., known for such sports titles as “Pro Evolution Soccer”, said that by marking a target date such as a wedding in the software, DS users can get customized, daily skincare instructions in the runup to the big day.
Wait till they have a Wii version!
“giving beauty tips based on users’ basal body temperature and hormone balance”
No info on how they collect the hormone balance or what algorhythms they use to give their advice, so hard to tell how valid this program will be.
I guess their defense to a claim of “false advertising” will be that everybody knows that software doesn’t actually work?
Just as an aside – just as Apple seems to be embracing the design and marketing skills that once characterized Sony, Nintendo management seems to be doing the same.
Certainly, they’ll catch the occasional bad wave; but, turning your engineers and designers loose in R&D is still the best way to grow.

Just keep the mid level managers away from R&D.
