    Oh come on, they give those things away to anyone that wants to pay enough, I’m sorry, “donate” to the City of Hollywood. Why else do you think the damn things coincide so perfectly with the release of some new big budget movie? Who do you think is picking up the tab for all that pomp and circumstance anyway? I’m sure if some Internet “star” could put enough money together, they too could be on the “Walk of Fame” themselves. In fact, I’m sure that if we wanted to prove a point, we COULD get Leo Laporte a star, if we got enough people together. Hell, if Leo can do it, that just proves that ANYONE can get their name on the “Walk of Fame”.

    Yes, for only $1500.00 you too can have a star on the walk of (sh)fame.

    Though having Leo and John next to each other would be knda nifty.

    Errrruh, #4, James…have you ever actually been to Hollywood and Vine? I can think of lots of things to call it (not all of them bad), but romantic is certainly not one of them.

    And, yes, one can indeed buy a star on the Walk of Fame these days. But I don’t think that was the way things were back in the good old days when it was first established.

    #10…DaveW…..You got me thinking about the last time I was at Hollywood and Vine. We went into a bar just a couple doors up from Vine on Hollywood Blvd and it turned out to be a Drag Queen prostitute hang out…what a hoot…..then we went across the street and down Vine about 40 feet to the only other bar around and it was a male hustler hang out. We decided we obviously had the wrong image of Hollywood and Vine.

    #12: And the only movie studio still in Hollywood is Paramount which is a couple of miles South down Vine and over to Gower on Melrose. All the others left for Burbank and the west side long ago.

    The kerning on the “DV ORAK” text in the photo is awesome! Someone needs to read “Photoshop for Blind People.”

    I understand the Cheerios Honey Bee has a star on the Walk of Fame, right next to Nelson Mandela and Monica Lewinsky.
