U.S. Bible-based museum drop ‘Adam’ video after actor’s risque past revealed — I am now convinced that this crazy museum will be the source of never-ending fun posts!
A man who plays Adam in a video aired at a Bible-based creationist museum in Kentucky has led a different life outside the Garden of Eden, flaunting his sexual exploits online and modeling for a clothing line that promotes free love.
After learning about his activities Thursday, the Creation Museum pulled the 40-second video in which he appears.
“We are currently investigating the veracity of these serious claims of his participation in projects that don’t align with the biblical standards and moral code upon which the ministry was founded,” Answers for Genesis spokesman Mark Looy said in a written statement.
Ya know you lefties are really running beating a dead horse with this crap.
I am a Christian and I dont believe we came from apes, but I do believe in evolution just not the extreme type that believes we all came from a chance meeting of chemicals in a pool of slime a billion years ago.
Do I think these guys are nuts, Sure I do. just because I dont believe the religion of evolution doesn’t mean there isn’t a middle ground between the 6000 year old earth and the slime mold cousin.
You lefties say we should practice tolerance and you excuse almost every weird act the Muslims believe and do, but I see no one continually commenting about the trip to Mecca where they throw stones at a rock and think they are beating the devil down, or that they believe Mohamed rode a flying hose across Arabia.
Why is that Christianity is the only religion you like to berate and try to limit the practice of ?
Personally, I don’t think that these people are nuts for thinking that the planet is 6000 years old, because, who knows, the first seven days could have been measured in other than twenty-four hour periods.
What makes me think that they are nuts, is that they say that some of the dinosaurs were taken, on the Ark, with Noah and company. This museum also states that dinosaurs were not carnivores until AFTER original sin. Kind of like the dinosaurs made a decision to eat meat after Adam and Eve ate the apple.
Each and every religion has some good. I, for one, look at these ‘good’ aspects, and try to practice them all.
To me, ALL religion, be it Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Pagan, Confucian, Jewish, Ba’hai, Hindu, or otherwise, are merely mythologies that help people to cope with their daily life, and help them to formulate their views of the world.
Oh, and Pmitchell, I didn’t even know that they had hoses when Mohammed was alive, let alone flying hoses. Do they do this with water in them, or not? 😉
PM – I think you’ve just proven for all time that you wander in here – use what poor reading skills you have (to no avail) – then, jump to foolish conclusions that match your ignorance of science.
#1, so you’re saying, what, Jesus hates Muslims?
You should never miss and opportunity to make fun of silly things (like this). Creationists are nuts. Science by NO means explains everything. Heck, modern science as we have now has only existed for a very short time. Christians have had two thousand years waiting for Jesus to come back to life and prove them right. So give science another 1800 years and lets compare notes. It only took science 70 years from learning how to fly to going to the moon. So in 1800 more years, who knows. 🙂
And stop with the b.s. about science saying we descended from apes. No one says that. Not true. We have common ancestors (as does everything).
I know people really ‘believe’ this stuff. But so did the people that believed Odin and his brothers created the world. Now most Christians would uniformly dismiss the idea that Odin created this world as just a joke…crazy…ridiculous story. But there’s every bit as much proof that Odin created the world as the ‘7 days’ story in the Old Testament…which is to say none. So don’t get too high on your horse saying how offended you are when someone casually dismisses your entire faith…when YOU do the same to others (followers of Odin). EVERYONE thinks their god/goddess/demi-gods or assorted magical beings are real and everyone else’s are fake. Welcome to the club.
#4 I don’t think so. If I understand the ideology of the 2 religions Allah and Jehovah are the same supreme being (go figure we are killing each other or semantics) the Muslims simply believe that Mohamed was the Saviour not Jesus Christ as Christians do. and then it get real complicated
Moss your are a prime example of the hate you lefties have for any religion and especially Christianity
lets see what a Christian faith based society has brought us
freedom
a rule of law (10 commandments)
The modern western society (which you seem to have great disdain for)
science
what has your paganism/athisim brought the world
anarchists
tribes in the jungle that have yet to discover the wheel
sad angry people that hate for no reason (look in a mirror )
hmmm I think I will stick with the faith side, ohh and the heaven hell thing ,If I’m right and your wrong your in a heap big bunch of trouble
#6, sorry you had me confused with someone who was interested in listening to you regurgitate dogma
Switch off your brain and PRAAAAZE THE LAWD!!!
#1 AMEN, FOR AT LEAST SOME OF YOUR COMMENT. ALL YA’LLS COMMENTS WERE WAY TOO LONG FOR ME TO READ ALL OF IT ON THIS ONE.
Odin created this world
Um, not exactly Odin, though he created humans.
J/P=?
#1 & #6 Pmitchell, I won’t speak for others, but the reason I continue to criticize Christianity more than Islam is simply its relevance. I’ve never had a single moment of concern that America’s laws or other aspects of our government would be changed to reflect specific beliefs of Islam, simply because Muslims are a minority. And just as you and I are both convinced that Islam is a false religion, I am equally convinced that yours is a false religion as well. The difference is that Christianity has the greater power to change my life, regardless of my disbelief, because you have so many more fellow believers.
Having read significant portions of the Bible, I’m convinced that the deity described therein is really more of a demon, but the good news is that he doesn’t actually exist. However, consider that we have a Commander-in-Chief whose highest loyalty is to a deity that no one has ever seen, and whose only method of communication is inside a person’s head, with no external verification possible. Geez, what could ever go wrong there?
I guess we can now look forward to the Democrats dropping “An Inconvenient Truth” because it starred Al Gore… who was Vice President to Bill Clinton… who did, well, you know…
RBG
Sad as it sounds, I really want to visit this place. Good humor!
#6 Unfortunately, you represent the majority of American tunnel-vision christians that believe the modern world all happened because of their belief in Jesus’s teachings. The truth is that religion has hindered invention and intelligence for centuries and milennia and we haven’t come close to learning from the philosophy of Jesus. We need to acknowledge that all persons have the potential to add to the collective understanding of this planet and religion, though comforting to the masses, works against new thought for the sake of self-preservation.
#13, TGW, I agree it would be a real hoot, but I’m certain I’d be forcefully escorted to the nearest exit for laughing too loudly. 🙂
PMitchell said, “Moss your are a prime example of the hate you lefties have for any religion and especially Christianity.”
No, not hate…religions are just stupid, ignorant, delusional fantasies used to keep the sheeple in line. I don’t care what others want to believe as long as it doesn’t hassle me or affect my life… which unfortunately it always does.
It is sad to me that people can’t read a whole comment because it takes to long….
Didn’t the clothes come from the shame they felt from being naked AFTER they ate the fruit.
or did I miss something, oh wait they are going to re write the story, not tell it.
This is what happens when Christians are cheap.
#1, PMitchell, Mohamed rode a flying hose across Arabia.
When you learn to proofread, spell and debate, you might actually stand a chance in the next political race. I’m sorry, I just don’t take religion seriously. I like the history and all, but not the fanatical faith or belief. Argue all you like, you’re not likely to find many converts here. And I’m usually a really nice guy, I just don’t like being preached by someone that’s actually running for political office. Forgive me please.
To paraphrase another Houston politician, “the best thing to come out of Houston is I-45 N to Austin.”
Apologies to all for being especially cranky today, too many cloudy nights.
Well, I see my [/i] tag disappeared in my last post, darnit we need a preview pane.
[Fixed – ed.]
#1 – I am a Christian and I dont believe we came from apes,
Nor do evolutionists.
In fact, no reasonable person thinks humans evolved from apes. But every reasonable person knows humans and apes have common ancestors.
but I do believe in evolution just not the extreme type that believes we all came from a chance meeting of chemicals in a pool of slime a billion years ago.
It isn’t that simple, but it doesn’t matter because abiogenesis and evolution are two different things.
You know… these things are written down in books and stuff. Fundie Xians don’t have to be ignorant about it. They merely chose to be ignorant.
#1 – Why is that Christianity is the only religion you like to berate and try to limit the practice of ?
That isn’t true but does it matter if we answer that or not. Fundies don’t listen anyway. They just believe what serves their agenda and spout their bullshit and when you answer it, they start at the top and spout the same bullshit again.
#1 You make some interesting points about double standards regarding tolerance.
When looking at one culture or subculture through the eyes of another one, I’m sure many practices seem foolish, mean spirited, or just plain weird.
One reason some “lefties” are more critical of fundamentalist Xtians than they are of fundamentalist Muslims is that the former represents a political block in this country that has wielded considerable political influence.
Tolerance tends to end when someone tries to dictate how I should live MY life as opposed to their own. Fundamentalist Muslims in this country are too marginalized to influence or dictate that the culture move in any particular direction. Unfortunately that is not true of fundamentalist Xtians. Making fun of them is an attempt to marginalize them, – to limit their influence
FWIW I don’t really seek to limit how anyone practices religion in their own home and further I think its reasonable to make allowances for the practice of it outside their home.
What I do resist is the promotion of the idea that the U.S. is on a basic level a Judeo-Christian country and should act accordingly. In my mind, the U.S. is largely and should remain a secular country where no particular religion is allowed to dominate the culture, -because no single religion is good enough.
#10 (re : #5)
YES, Odin created earth, not just the humans (depending on your ‘belief’) It was Odin and his brothers to be fair. “According to the Prose Edda, Odin, the first and most powerful of the Aesir, was a son of Bestla and Borr and brother of Ve and Vili and together with these brothers he cast down the frost giant Ymir and made Earth from Ymir’s body.” – Wikipedia
Praise Odin.
Now you can’t EVEN seriously compare ‘tolerance’ between religion and science. The day I see a group of nuclear physicists marching with signs saying “Physicists hate fags”…or some group of aeronautical engineers beat a man to death for being gay, THEN you can talk about comparing tolerance. Only religious folks “hate” gays and attack them. No group of scientists have ever tried to outlaw gay marriage or attack gays. If I’m wrong, please reference and article showing otherwise. I’m trying to imagine a gang of chemical engineers screaming insults at a gay pride parade. I suppose it’s possible…but….
#21, don’t even try the reasonable argument on him. He’s relying on classic straw man – the first and only hope of those incapable of a logical or reasonable position.
#25 David, good point — even the most passionate scientists would be much more concerned with calculating the acceleration curve of their stones and plotting the trajectory, rather than doing any harm to a human target 😉
OFTLO: I was confused…
And then it occurred to me…Xmas. I get it.
so let me get this straight, John posts an article about how a Christian organization fires a guy because he does not represent the Christian ethic that they believe in.
And the only thing talked about by the majority of the comments is evolution and the length of the comments themselves.
wow, what a way to RTA guys.
/waiting for JCD’s “cripes” post (but not holding breath)
I’m guessing John’s ad money is running thin this month. It’d be interesting to see some metrics on the increase in posts when you post something about creationists.
