A man was shot dead in the Philippines – for singing out of tune in a karaoke bar.
Police have arrested a security guard over the death of 29-year-old Romy Baligula in the Jullives KTV bar in San Mateo, Rizal on Tuesday.
The guard, 43-year-old Robilito Ortega, worked at the bar. He reportedly behaved in a friendly manner towards Baligula and his friends, shaking their hands as they sat drinking at a table, and even dancing along when Baligula got on stage to sing.
But when he then criticised Baligula for being out of tune, an argument started. As the confrontation became more intense, Ortega settled the matter by pulling out his firearm and shooting Baligula in the chest.
According to police, Baligula died instantly.
Aside from the exception of a Roger Daltry cameo on CSI, karaoke is the worst affliction I suffered in my years involved with Asian commerce.
Thanks, Joshua
