Your next boss

Anyone who watches Cranky Geeks knows Om Malik since he is our most popular panelist. He’s making a fortune on his blog GigaOm but has decided to expand with one new blog after another. Since we don’t pay our guests I promised that I’d plug his latest venture foundread.com which appears to be a site devoted to some sort of limbo/nirvana state achievable only by perpetually being in a start-up company, I think. Actually I cannot figure out the site at all. Any help would be appreciated.

Actually I cannot figure out the site at all
This is why you’ll never get stinky rich off the web.
Step 1: create a web site (details are immaterial)
    Step 2: ????
    Step 3: profit

Actually, I’ll never get stinky rich off the web either.

  2. Matt says:

I love Om on Cranky Geeks! You really should have him on more often.

  3. John Benson says:

I’m glad to hear you compliment Om Malik. He is great when he is on the show. He does not hesitate to hit back. And he knows his stuff. A great addition to Cranky Geeks.

  4. Scott says:

Okay, I was able to figure this much out about the site. Hard to find quote:
“Found+READ is a site by entrepreneurs, for entrepreneurs.”

So if you log in and upload your photo, you can comment and vote on stories, and request stories, which Om’s staff will then write. Usually about business plans, marketing, other things of interest to entrepeneurs.

So, it’s the M.B.A. social networking side of Om’s new media empire.

    Om rocks!

  6. James Hill says:

    Compared to JCD…

Nea, just too easy. Om’s a great panelist.

  7. Albert Jesup says:

You know, when John throws a card it him it’s a hate crime. Stop it!

  8. I have no clue how to get around the FoundRed site. Thank god I have NetVibes to go through the RSS feed so I can cherry pick which articles to read.

Oh and Om Malik used to be my boss but he never paid me so I left. My name is on NewTeeVee.com which is good enough for me.
