A man cut off his own head with a chainsaw after stabbing his 70-year-old father to death in their apartment in the German city of Cologne, police said. The body of the offender, 24, was found headless when police raced to the apartment after an emergency call, apparently from the dying father, had been broken off in mid-sentence. Alf Willwacher, a senior prosecutor, said an electric chainsaw was next to the son’s body. “We do not believe any third party was involved,” he said. Neighbours said the father and son had been reclusive since the death of the mother, allegedly by suicide, several years ago.

That was just inspector Cluseau’s deduction. The father actually cut off the son’s head and then killed himself with a knife.
Hmm….. Just yesterday, some loony did the same thing with a circular saw to his mother, then himself… he didn’t manage to finish the job, his head stayed on.
Coïncidence? I don’t think so… You know how competitive some Germans can be. 🙂

He actually used an electric chainsaw and a timer, laid his neck on the blade, and waited for the timer to go off.

I thought Darwin Award too and then realized that I believe suicide doesn’t count. It has to be stupidity and accidental removal from the gene pool rather than insanity.
It’d be more impressive if that no arms/one leg guy who out ran the cops was the one who decapitated this guy w/ a chainsaw.

There was a guy in Venice Beach who used to juggle running chainsaws. I don’t know if he still does it. The last time I saw him doing it was back in the early 90’s. Anyhow, I am sure that he too will die by cutting his own head off during a juggling accident.
