Expected to win the best legs in the cellblock honors
A judge sentenced a shocked and tearful Paris Hilton to 45 days in jail on Friday, ruling that the celebrity hotel heiress violated her probation for an earlier alcohol-related traffic offense.
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Sauer sternly rejected Hilton’s story that she did not knowingly disobey the law by driving while her license was suspended and ordered the 26-year-old socialite to report to a county detention facility on June 5, or face 90 days in jail.
Taking the witness stand in her own defense, the star of the reality TV show “The Simple Life” testified that she was unaware her driving privileges had been completely suspended at the time police stopped her and impounded her car on February 27.
“In my opinion, there’s not doubt that she knew that her license had been suspended,” the judge said. “She doesn’t look at her mail, her personal assistant never goes through it either. … I think she just wanted to disregard everything that was said and continued to drive no matter what.”
In honor of the occasion, I give you Paris washing a car!
Reality isn’t so hot.
I know I’m going out o a limb here, but maybe a few days in jail will give her the does of humility she needs.
Next ‘must have’ video:
Girls behind bars – Hilton edition.
For someone born without a brain, she sure has a nice smile.
Irony is Paris Hilton making license plates.
She’ll probably IM Martha, Snoop, and Nick Nolte for advice…
It’s a mark of a truly worthless life when the best label people can find for you is “socialite”.
I guess I really don’t get *why* she was driving. From what we are told, she’s got money coming out the wazoo. Why didn’t she hire a driver?
now the only question is: why does she make news with that?
What’s her value add for humanity?
I mean, all she does is self-promote her way of life. Fine. Others do that as well, but usually, they’ve done something productive before they could do so, whether it was starring in movies or creating something tangible.
From this girl, all I’ve ever seen stems from the fact that she’s just born hideously rich. How’s that worth news?
Oh, and btw, given the amount of money she probably pumps into hairdressers, make-up artists and what not, she’s still not more than a stereotypical icon that vanishes on a closer look. I’ve seen prettier women “here on the ground”.
So what I’m saying is: who are we talking about? Why’s this on Dvorak uncensored? She sure doesn’t need this as a platform.

jeebus #8, you wrote more about her than the editor and comments combined
#7, Thomas, Good point. But really, who gives a phuk?
#9: actually, that was exactly my thought when pressing “say it!”. However, the essence of my many words is in the last sentence. I’m just curious to understand why someone who is nothing but a notorious party girl (and we’ve had our own incarnation of that species here in Germany) can make the front pages without any personal merits at all.
pj
btw: is there male specimen to that species?

jeez dude lighten up.
Isn’t she cute enough for you? Just enjoy pics/vids… the rest is just smoke screen to smuggle something cute for our male eyes on these pages 😉

I doubt ‘a few days’ would be enough, but 45 stands a good chance of getting her to think about things without distractions…
I just don’t get the point of knocking her; she’s young, good-looking, good-natured, brighter than average… it’s not her fault she was born into money. If she were to learn a little responsibility (and this little vacation might just do it), she might start growing into a worthwhile person.
Stranger things have happened.
Seems like the making of a heckuva reality series to me!
The proceeds could go to a drunk driving victim’s fund.
14. “brighter than average… “
What evidence do you have for that?

“14. “brighter than average… “
What evidence do you have for that?”
Well, let’s just say for the sake of argument that I’m relying on a few decades of both professional and empirical psychometric experience…
Very long answer kept short and grossly oversimplified, controlling for her age / gender / education / ancestry / socioec niche, her unmoderated words and deeds support the impression that she has failed to significantly develop certain character traits, specifically arrogance, conceit and egocentrism. The level of self-awareness requisite to resistance to these traits tends (in the absence of complicating factors) to develop at IQs of roughly 108-115. It’s generally known as ‘fame going to one’s head,’ and she hasn’t fallen victim, nor at this point is she likely to.
As examples of low-to-middle average intelligence (say, 96-102) in similarly situated individuals from the same general demo, consider Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, Liz Taylor.
Given her access to funds and lack of responsibilities, she’s notably self-effacing and benign. She doesn’t see herself as the center of the universe – but that doesn’t prevent her from enjoying the attention.
What I’m saying is, why knock her, besides class resentment – since, even though she’s on the ditzy and irresponsible side, she’s basically a fairly nice girl who doesn’t take herself too seriously…
Given her age, looks and money, her lifestyle is neither unusual nor particularly decadent. She hasn’t had a boob job, she doesn’t throw things at people, she doesn’t get caught snorting heroin in the loo and she rarely drowns kittens.
There’re worse people out there. Electing Dubya is a far stronger indictment of America’s collective intelligence than is Paris’ celebrity…
#18 do you really think anyone would read a post that long on Paris.A jail sentence will do her and her career good.

Give it up Lauren… Paris Hilton is not brighter than average… She’s acting confident, but underneath that polished surface you’ve got an ignorant bimbo. Want some proof? How about these quotes:
Brighter-than-average aint exactly a compliment.
Uh-uh. Nowhere did I say she’s not a bim; I’m saying she’s a premium-grade bim… and don’t get taken in by everything she says – (a) she’s quite aware of her airhead rep, and (b) she has shown that she knows how to play off that rep, tongue-firmly-in-cheek.
No, no Nobel Prize for her, nor Mensa membership offers… but cute, pleasant girls who don’t channel Leona Helmsley are assets, however minor, to human society.
Bottom line? PH certainly beats a poke in the eye with a sharp stick – and after 6 weeks of forced introspection, she might even give her legions of detractors a surprise…
Anyway, all else not withstanding, I like her boobs.

Oh, well. I didn’t exactly hold a gun to your head to get you in here, now did I? 🙂
Three of the four basic needs of a man in one commercial. Now just add a beer and it’s perfect.

Yeah…I agree…PH also beats getting herpes from….oh crap…never mind…
And for her having a “good nature” – She has been videotaped calling two people walking down the street “niggers”… You’re right… a loving personality.
With all the lawyers and money that she has access to, I would be surprised if she gets out a few day after she is locked up. After all, some people think that money can buy anything. Why not freedom?
No One is above the law. This is a much needed wake up call for Paris and hopefully will get back on the right track.
Anyway, I have been busy shooting and uploading images to my blog from Tribeca Film Festival.
@#26
no one is above the law??? what about Bush? he breaks laws all over the place, however no impeachment planned? yet if you get a BJ in the whitehouse and get caught….. Dont have faith in the American Legal system
Well Like I said no one is above the law!
I never said anything about Bush!

Psst! I know nothing of the incident you cite – but ‘good-natured’ has nothing to do with being ‘good’; it means cheerful, upbeat, pleasant, positive.
Wow Lauren, you must REALLY like her boobs!
