Is your fur fake, or is it Fido? – U.S. Business – MSNBC.com — I suppose this works until it gets wet and you smell like a “big wet dog!” Does anyone but me think that somehow China is behind all this? Personally I am waiting for a cat leather wallet.

That fur trim on your jacket that you think is fake? Tell it to Fido. An animal advocacy group says its investigation has turned up coats — some with designer labels, some at higher-end retailers — with fur from man’s best friend. Some retailers were set scrambling to pull the coats from shelves, take them off Web sites and even offer refunds to consumers.
The Humane Society of the United States said it purchased coats from reputable outlets, such as upscale Nordstrom, with designer labels — Andrew Marc, Tommy Hilfiger, for example — and found them trimmed with fur from domestic dogs, even though the fur was advertised as fake.

Who still wears fur coats
I bet even Tommy Hilfiger would have trouble marketing coats as “trimmed with genuine rabid dog fur.” It just doesn’t resonate.

First of all, people who don’t like real fur because they think it’s inhumane, but still wear fake fur because of the fashion are hypocritical idiots. Secondly, why should dog and cat fur be illegal when the furs of other animals aren’t. More poorly reasoned laws dreamt up by the clowns we put into office.
#3 Apparently someone still wears them. Here in Oregon you can go out to the coast and buy mink carcasses for crab bait.. and since they don’t have their little coats on them I would imagine that fur is going somewhere.. plus theres been a fur shop in the news up here lately thats pissed because they have activists sit outside the store and run off all the customers. So somebody wears it.
