Is Anna Nicole Smith’s death another Monroe-like snuffing of a gold-digger who wouldn’t let go, or a tale of yet another burned-out wreck on the celebrity highway?
Former Playboy Playmate Anna Nicole Smith, who took her fight to inherit from her aged billionaire husband to the U.S. Supreme Court, has died at the age of 39 after collapsing in a Florida hotel room, her lawyer said on Thursday.
“I can confirm that she is deceased. It’s as shocking to me as to you guys,” Smith’s attorney, Ronald Rale, told Reuters. “I don’t know anything further. (Her lawyer and husband) Howard (K. Stern) obviously is speechless and grieving.
The sudden death of Smith came just five months after Smith’s 20-year-old son, Daniel Smith, died in the Bahamas three days after the birth of her daughter.
Smith was found in her hotel room and given CPR by Seminole tribal fire rescue and Hollywood fire rescue workers, said Michael Bloom, president of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
The only reason this even approaches news is that she’s a little too young to just drop dead, and she’s been in the public eye too much to be symptomatic with something fatal without the tabloids finding out. That there are millions involved is enough to raise eyebrows.
It’s about time.
CISCO will surely miss her, and her love for their switches.
I kid you not.

When it comes back that she was high on something, are we supposed to act shocked?
3,
No, just disappointed.
I wouldn’t be too critical. Not a very bright girl with a playboy body. She was probably used and abused her whole life.
I didn’t know her. I don’t know anything about her aside from the manufactuered public personality that I can only assume is a distorted representation of her in reality. I believe she’s a an unfortunate blip of the Romanesque pop culture radar screen. Her 15 minutes probably lasted several hours too long.
But the celebrity status that some enjoy (or endure) is not of their own creation. We (even those of us who don’t read tabloids or watch E!) create these images. But behind the faces we love to scorn are human beings, albiet tragic ones.
I don’t intend to deliver a heartfelt comment on the fragile nature of humanity. But rather to ask… #1 – WTF do you mean, “It’s about time” Was her completely seperate existence on this Earth such a freaking bummer to your personal life that you actually rejoice in the death of a woman who’s greatest crime was being dim-witted and having big tits?
What a sad commentary on the character of a total population that we so enjoy the tragic ends that come to people we don’t know and who don’t effect us in any way at all.
“Yeah but I’m just so sick of celebs who…” Then put down your copy of US weekly, quite watching MTV cribs, and turn on C-Span so that you’ll at least be focusing on something that matters… Or better yet, go have your own life and quit being a vampire on the tit of pop culture.
“she’s a little too young to just drop dead”
Yeah, and living the life of a stripper and a Playboy bunny, and all the drugs, alcohol and plastic surgery had nothing to do with it. Riiiiiiiight.
“She was probably used and abused her whole life.”
Maybe, but we know she used and abused her own body, and she definitely used and abused her husband and his family.
It’s just difficult to have anything more than pity for her. She reaped what she sowed.
She was murdered. Plain and simple. You don’t think those lawyers were going down for the part they played in her Son’s death do you?? No freakin’ way. It’s easier to kill the bimbo in their mind.
She was murdered. Her son died because he accidentally took the hit that was meant for her. Poison of some sort, I assume. They probably wanted to get Nichole and her new baby at the same time. The family of her late husband has been in an extended legal battle with her for several years, all the way to the US Supreme Court and lost. They’re pissed. Pissed enough to kill, in my opinion. Rich enough to carry it out and get away with it too.

#6 – well said
#1 – you are an asshole, plain & simple
But I respect your right to be a flaming jerk.
“Oh, did you hear the news? That dildo Undissembled croaked-it’s about freakin’ time”
God help us.
“Oh no, it wasn’t the airplanes. It was beauty killed the beast.”
OK, I didn’t have anything profound to say so I stole that from the 1933 version of King Kong. She was a beauty, but also very very troubled.
#5,6, and 11 I say right on. The milk of human kindness has soured here.

After all, they are Texans and they have a tendency to make their own law, specially the rich ones.
#4 – I can’t say I’m disapointed. I don’t care enough about her to think that way.
#13. seconded. jeez, to be gleeful at the death of another – basically harmless – human being is not exactly the sign of good character.
Who cares.
Hey, check out those hooters!
#15 – But then again you don’t like women. I’ll bet if you had as many sticking out of you as you had stuck in you, you’d look like a porcupine.
#15, 20: “James Shrill”
Hey Hill, you know you’re famous when you have your own doppelganger!
No worries… media will soon find another bimbo to fill Nicole’s shoes and bras. I wish media gave as much attention to science/scientists as they give to the bimbos… but hey, that doesn’t sell ads.

*pout* I wish I had a doppelgänger… 🙁
she was definately murdered. theres almost no doubt about it. she didnt do drugs, and she treated that guy howard like crap. after they got married her son died, then he got rid of her. he killed her i bet!!
Who said you don’t 🙂
I’ll bet that crazy astronaut chick is happy.
27. “I’ll bet that crazy astronaut chick is happy.”
That’s what I like about you Alix, you’re always looking at the bright side of things! 😉
“Behind every great fortune there is a crime.” …Balzac
Conspiracy theories are 99+% for the tinfoil-hat paranoid set, but it’s a fact that Pierce Marshall had a deep, abiding resentment and hate for her, and he has been pathologically obsessive in fighting her over the money.
Motive, means and opportunity. He had ’em all, plus he’s a power-mad, obscenely greedy sack ‘o shit.
Yeah, I’d bet he’s behind it. I’d also bet that he’ll get away with it.

“After all, they are Texans and they have a tendency to make their own law, specially the rich ones.”
Damn right.
Know what? I’ve dug deep into my soul and reconsidered, and I’m now considering being willing to provisionally concede that maybe brother Pierce might conceivably not be behind her untimely demise, in light of the fact that the vicious bastard went and died while I wasn’t paying attention!

God, you’ve never watched “Columbo,” The Rockford Files,” or “Murder, She Wrote”? Pierce “dying” is the perfect cover!
But seriously, who says you can’t hire a hitman to do a job after you’ve died?
I was saddened to see that she died.
She may not have been the perfect speciman of humanity, but she has left behind a 5 month old baby who will never know her “Mommy”
That in itself is enough.
Sadly, this innocent’s life is going to be further marked with fighting over who her true father is.
