“Harry Potter” star Daniel Radcliffe, who strips for his new role in London’s West End revival of the play “Equus,” has ignited a bit of a media firestorm by posing for racy promotional photos for the production.

The Tony-Award-winning drama tells the story of a stable-hand who has an erotic fixation with horses. In one photo, Radcliffe, 17, dares to bare it all alongside a white horse; in another, he is pictured with a naked Joanna Christie, the actress who portrays his girlfriend.

We all know who’s going to say what – next. Should we start a pool on which religious fuddie-duddies call for a boycott of Harry Potter?

  1. OhForTheLoveOf says:

No… But we should start a petition to get Equus to do a US tour after its London run…

You know… Just to stir up the loonbats even more.

  2. Angel H. Wong says:

Maybe he’s trying to show pedophiles that he’s still worth watching 😉

  3. James Hill says:

You’re not supposed to show your wand in public, Harry.

  4. Les says:

The religious fuddie-duddies have allready called for a boycott of Harry Potter. Many times.

  5. Tom 2 says:

There are two things I think about this story, one that he might get replaced, and two that maybe he is doing this so he can get a part,so he isnt type cast.

  6. C. Flowers says:

Harry Potter’s gone Hairy Pecker on us?? LOL…and he’s jonesin’ for a horse? Say it ain’t so Harry…say it ain’t so!

I hope he remembers to practice safe hex, or he might get a bad case of Hogwarts!!

  7. ghm101 says:

Where is this “Storm” of which this article speaks?

The is none here in London at the moment and I get the dubious pleasure of reading the commuter papers daily.

    Media stirup more likely.

His part (pardon the pun) is entirely appropriate to the play in question.

  8. Big A says:

Religious fuddie-duddies already hate Harry Potter (the whole witchcfraft thing, I guess).

Anyway, the better question is how does some piece of garbage about beastiality get to be a Tony award winner?

  9. Duffy says:

Well, Daniel Radcliffe has shot himself in the (add appropriate part of anatomy here). He’s 17 and, granted, in Europe it’s no big thing for this kind of stuff to happen.

Unfortunately, he’s been Harry for so long that it’s likely he won’t get anything more after this. Incidentally, I don’t think that he’ll be able to do “Equus” in the States simply because he’s not “of age”.

    time will tell.

  10. fineandwell says:

So what….. Now, where’s the Emma Watson nudie play??

  11. Neumann says:

He’s really only Harry with the glasses, he looks different enough, and besides, how many kids are going to see this play. This play is for mature audiences who can differentiate between an actor and a performer.

I heard he was going to do this ages ago, and I certainly hope he does more mature and varied roles in the future cause I want to see him show a good deal of range.

  12. me says:

    @ fineandwell

Dunno, but if it will ever be one, count me on! *DROOL* 😉

  13. meetsy says:

uhhh, that’s NOT a white horse….so I don’t know what the fuss is about. Nude guy. (YAWN) Okay, he looks just fine, but he’s NOT Harry Potter, ony the actor that plays him.
And that is NOT white horse, it’s a light grey horse. GEEZ!!
“A truly white horse is born white and remains white. His
hair is snowy; he has pink skin and blue eyes. Cream horses are a
variation, also having unpigmented skin and pink or blue eyes,
with a pale colored coat. Most “white horses” are actually light
    grey.” source: http://www.petcaretips.net/horse_color_markings.html

  14. Lauren the Ghoti says:

    #8 – Big A

Setting questions of artistic merit aside for the nonce, you have been found guilty of Intolerably Illiterate Internet Misspelling #14 – there is only one ‘A’ in ‘bestiality’. Considering that your moniker prominently features that very letter, your crime is that much worse.

  15. Greg Allen says:

I saw the movie — which had full-frontal nudity of the main (male) character. I assume the play does too.

That could be an eye opener to Harry Potter fans who go to see the star but don’t know what to expect!

In that case, the nudity in the advertising could be a helpful head-up about the nudity in the play.

  16. Mike Voice says:

Funny that he played a cannabalistic murderer in the movie Sin City, and that hasn’t gotten him replaced as harry potter.

  17. Lauren the Ghoti says:

AND by now, you can be sure he’s made enough €from the HP films he can pretty much do as he pleases from here on…

  18. OhForTheLoveOf says:

#16 – You are thinking of Elijia Wood who played Frodo Baggins in the Lord Of The Rings films…

  19. kalkal says:

I can not believe that a teen so reputed can strip his clothes off. It is disgusting ! He was the role model for max teens and what he does now is this. I truly think that Bollywood has a lot more standard than Hollywood it is extraordinary and some idiotic girls think he is HOT Gosh! from my point of view it would be considered as a uncivilized thing to say really teens are misdirected I would like to know views of Daniel’s parents as his act is one of the most shameful act I HAVE EVER SEEN .

Really I feel proud and relieved to find myself in Indian culture and community!

    THANK GOD
