It’s hard to draw an audience. This is especially true at an event like the 2007 CES where everyone else around you is also screaming their lungs out (mostly figuratively) for attention. Think of a nest of chicks fighting for the worm. Intel had an extremely large and elaborate booth, with scale-model interactive video racing for prizes up front.  
There were interactive kiosks and booth docents everywhere.

Speaking of games, Rhapsody held a quiz show at their booth, where costumed CES attendees competed for prizes. Qualcomm held a “dig” for ancient technology, reminding us of how far we’ve come.Can you recognize all the devices in the background?

‘Nuff said.

Here are some car electronics pics I must have overlooked. You’d have to beef up your vehicle suspension for that speaker. Speaking of speakers, this demo car from JL Audio has a functional steering wheel made out of a functioning midrange.

In the miscellaneous technology area, the WildCharger wireless charging pad is a new device that promises to eliminate extension cords and separate power adapters by providing power through an intelligent power interface pad. The technology is non-inductive, and is based on technology similar to that of an earlier pad power system called Mobilewise (no longer in business). Silicon Image demonstrated how the latest HDMI spec can integrate inputs from multiple devices.

The pile of photographs reminding passers-by of what you can lose along with your laptop was in the airport baggage claim area, a cute bit of synergistic marketing. Speaking of photography, these little umbrellas for cameras may make others smile, but they’ll help keep your gear dry.
