LIVELY DEBATE IN THE COMMENTS…Back to the TOP O’ The BLOG

ASSOCIATED PRESS – December 29, 2006 via Overlawyered.com:

The North Carolina bar filed the ethics charges Thursday, accusing District Attorney Mike Nifong of violating four rules of professional conduct by making misleading and inflammatory comments about the athletes under suspicion.

The bar cited 41 quotations and eight paraphrased statements made to newspaper and TV reporters, saying many of them amounted to ”improper commentary about the character, credibility and reputation of the accused.”

Among them:

— Referring to the lacrosse players as ”a bunch of hooligans.”

— ”I am convinced there was a rape, yes, sir.”

— ”One would wonder why one needs an attorney if one was not charged and had not done anything wrong.”

Nifong also is charged with breaking a rule against ”dishonesty, fraud, deceit and misrepresentation.” The bar said that when DNA testing failed to find any evidence a lacrosse player raped the accuser, Nifong told a reporter the players might have used condoms.

According to the bar, Nifong knew that assertion was misleading, because he had received a report from an emergency room nurse in which the accuser said her attackers did not use condoms.

You have to get in line babe.

  2. George of the city says:

I have always been amused that on this blog you can carry on a conversation with yourself. But sharon has brought this to new levels. Without her wit and wisdom this tread would be about 30 comments. But not nearly as entertaining. That being said. The porn on this site is getting a little heavy. A little moderating. Please

  3. Sharon says:

    George of the City,

Since this is your first blog on here, I am curious if you have read the entire blog. I seem to be singled out as the only one involved in your complaints. I suggest you check out other bloggers who appear to be talking to themselves.

One such blogger has already been isolated as an unusual multiple personality who The Troll Hunter is studying very closely. This particular poster could revolutionize the Troll Hunting industry.

As to porn, you must understand this is not unusual for male posters to to revert to high school locker room talk. i am sure the maturity level of men never evolves far from that type of talking about women in the first place.

My head swirls from one poster’s comments, under different names, in order to feel important and is the most prolific attention seeker I have ever come across. In many respects, I find him fascinating in his total lack of understanding the female mind.

Perhaps there should be a separate blog for this individual, but I am of the belief this case brings out the worst in him.

Stop blaming one of a very few female bloggers here.

  4. LillyWhite says:

I agree on the amount of female bloggers here. There is Sharon, who I am beginning to look up to as my idol, and then there is Sexy Lady, and some old senile biddy called the Little Old Lady who Lives in a Shoe.

I have noticed the urination crimes of these boys are overlooked by the male bloggers which I find very telling.

    Disgusting

  5. Sharon says:

I made a very informed comment when I first blogged here. The next thing I know is a blogger came back at me, lashing out that I am an ignorant ass.

He said nothing else. This was Commonman. He soon realized he had bitten off more than he could chew. At this time, a maze of split personalities began to emerge.

  6. Ron says:

    # 3 (JCD) was the best summation of this case I have heard yet. I think the 3 guys may be rich jerks, but that doesn’t make them guilty, in this case in make them victims of power hungry DA and a person looking for a pay out. This is (another) prime example of why people mistrust the courts.

  7. Uncle Dave says:

Just for the record, Sharon, Lily White, The Troll Hunter, Sexy Lady, OldLadyWhoLivesAShoe are all the same person. But most of you already figured that out. Also that she/he is a troll.

  8. N. Eric Phillips says:

    Nice Guy:

You wrote what you think is going on. I have some comments:

    1) Criminal misconduct by the DA Mike Nifong.
He has not be charged with criminal misconduct. He is being investigated by the bar which licenses him to practice law. These are adminstrative, not criminal, charges.

    2) Conspiracy to hide evidence by the DA and the DNA lab.
Like most conspiracies, how many would have to be involved in this. Multiple technicians, for sure. Remember- the more people in a conspiracy the less likely it is true because of the problem of keeping people from talking.

    3) Three innocent boys caught in the middle and had their lives destroyed.
They have a chance to prove their innocence in court, as should all accused.

    4) The “race card” being played by blacks who want to claim title in being victims while promoting the same type of racism they claim to be against or have sufferred from.
The race card was first introduced by the fans of the Duke boys when the idea that the DA was prosecuting this only to get elected.

    5) The “woman card” being played claiming that all women should be without question, believed as long as they claim rape. If they’re not believed, than it’s because of men who are all evil.
According to our system of laws, anyone who claims to be a victim has the right to accuse those who might have done them wrong. This is a right of all men and women, regardless of race, religion or sex.

    6) The destroyed lives of men and boys accused of rape.
Well, they should never have had a stripper party then. If they are innocent, they put themselves into a position to be accused.

    7) The Duke University and 88 staff who instead of demanding justice, turned against the innocent boys to join the pack of wolves attacking these boys.
Yes, the conspiracy is even larger, making it more unlikely. They didn’t turn, as I said in 6 above, these kids were out of control and the school was demanding, before any of this ever happened, that the coach get them under control.

As I have said before, let the process continue. if there is no evidence, as so many of you claim, they will be acquitted. The wheels of justice turn slow.

  9. Sharon says:

    Uncle Dave,

Try this on for size. Commonman, limp dick white boy, stiff dick that sharon is not going to have,, and Nice Guy are all one in the same.

This shows your are just picking on me because I am a girl. You are playing the Man Card.

This blog site is not about me. You are hijacking, plain and simple.

Give Nice Guy the attention he is seeking are are giving me.

I hope The Troll Hunter stops by today.

I heard about this blog through the feminazi groups and had to come over to see for myself.

This is incredible. More feminazi groups should see this. There is simply no way this victim should be talked about like this.

Nice Guy is not nice. Now is the time to find out what the WOMENS CARD is all about.

  12. Sharon says:

Thanks for your support feminazi. Nice Guy should show himself, but you
know how that goes. I bet feminazi groups has him shaking in his boots.

Come on Nice Guy. Tell us about yourself. What do you do for a living that makes you an expert in clock exams and the woman’s card?

We want to know what you look like, how old you are, and if you live under a bridge for starters. LOL

Are you saying I am the life of the party? I always have been, but thanks anyway, I think.

  14. LillyWhite says:

    #172

You could not have said it better. That urinating in public while exposing their you know whats, went on for two years. They should have known a rape was imminent.

    Disgusting

  15. Uncle Dave says:

Just out of idle curiosity, Sharon, are you schizophrenic? It’s so odd to see you talking to yourself in one post after another.

Actually, since this post has devolved into you talking to yourself and your trolling ways, I suggest it’s time for everyone to just ignore you. You can continue to rant away between your personalities. It just ups the number of comment entries which only helps DU with our statistics.

  16. N. Eric Phillips says:

I think we are thread killed.

  17. Ron says:

    Uncle Dave,

More than one personality is Multiple Personality Disorder, not schizophrenia. In Sharon et al.’s case she seems to have both. A winning combination.

  18. Nice Guy says:

I know why “Sharon, LilliWhite, Troll, Old Lady, sexy lady” or whatever she’s calling herself to pretend that there’s more than just her.

Many feminist wants to shut down conversation regarding false claims of rape being too common of a problem. “Sharon-etc..” wants all focus on her to shut down conversation that evens the playing field for gender issues(i.e. women are just as likely to do unethical and immoral deeds, etc.)

Making men shut up and letting women like Sharon dictate social policy is how we end up with Rape shield laws that strip away the basic constitutional rights that are guaranteed men in other crimes, how College “sexual misconduct rule” that automatically blame the guy, VAWA, US Dept. of WOmen’s Health, the US dept. of labor, etc, which uses billions in federal tax dollars to promote women’s issues only by lobbying manipulated stats from slanted data to show myths that rape is under reported, and false rapes never happen, and women make less money than men because of sex discrimination.

For the welfare of future generations, we have to stand up and speak up for what is honest and true. The future generations includes both men and women depend on fairness and equality for everyone, including men.

  19. Nice Guy says:

    N. Eric Phillips :

You wrote what you think is going on. I have some comments:

    1) Criminal misconduct by the DA Mike Nifong.

He has not be charged with criminal misconduct. He is being investigated by the bar which licenses him to practice law. These are adminstrative, not criminal, charges.
He will be found guilty of criminal misconduct according to NC’s Bar’s own discription of what criminal misconduct is – it’s only a matter of time

    2) Conspiracy to hide evidence by the DA and the DNA lab.

Like most conspiracies, how many would have to be involved in this. Multiple technicians, for sure. Remember- the more people in a conspiracy the less likely it is true because of the problem of keeping people from talking.
The head of the DNA lad stated under oath that he discussed with DA Mike Nifong to keep exculpatory evidence from the defense

    3) Three innocent boys caught in the middle and had their lives destroyed.

They have a chance to prove their innocence in court, as should all accused.
That should have been the path all along, but instead Mike Nifong as well as many opportunistic “victim’s advocacy group” with their wanted posters, and many reporters (i.e. Nancy Grace, Wendy Murphy, etc…) stained these innocent boys are rapists months ago

    4) The “race card” being played by blacks who want to claim title in being victims while promoting the same type of racism they claim to be against or have sufferred from.

The race card was first introduced by the fans of the Duke boys when the idea that the DA was prosecuting this only to get elected.
The race card was introduced by the 2nd stripper who ripped off the boys and after a heated ugly arguement she called 911 to say that she was just driving by and these boys yelled racial slurs. Of course she didn’t mention the racial slurs she yelled)

If you believe this, you’re ignorant, and shouldn’t be talking about things you know nothing about.

    6) The destroyed lives of men and boys accused of rape.
Well, they should never have had a stripper party then. If they are innocent, they put themselves into a position to be accused.
Sure everyone accused of being a gang rapist is never stained by this accusation

There is nothing wrong with hiring a stripper. None of these kids were “out of control.” Using archaic sexist stereotypes to prove a point is ignorant. They got mad because the strippers ripped them off. It’s a person’s basic civil right to hire a stripper. I don’t know what conspiracy you’re claiming, but it doesn’t take much for a couple of little lies to grow out of control, and that’s what Mike Nifong and Crystal’s little lies did, if the conspiracy you’re talking about is the hooker making the false accusation and the DA promoting it, than yes, the conspiracy grew from there.

As I have said before, let the process continue. if there is no evidence, as so many of you claim, they will be acquitted. The wheels of justice turn slow.
….and so do the wheels in your head. Take a laxative you’re so full of crap N. Eric Phillips , and that’s putting it in a Nice way.

  20. Krystal says:

The line up will be thrown out. I heard that in the first line up the stripper picked two guys that weren’t even at Duke, so they limited the line up to only Duke players, then I heard she picked two boys who weren’t even at the party, so they limited the photo line up to only boys at that party, then she picked a boys who has an air tight alibi and another that she was 90% sure because he didn’t have a mustache, but this none of the boys have ever had mustaches. I hope these boys are okay. We have to pray for them. They’ve been through too much horrible things. That stripper should be ashamed. The DA should be ashamed. All the black racists who elected him into office should be ashamed.

  22. Letters from today says:

    Nifong must pay

    ——————————————————————————–

I can not believe that District Attorney Mike Nifong is continuing to pursue the case against the Duke lacrosse players. Does he not realize yet that he has no case against them? This woman apparently lied and has been lying since the beginning. To those of us who are on the outside looking in, this case never had any merits. This woman has changed her story so many times. I don’t think she even knows what she believes.

I applaud the citizens of Durham for demanding the firing of Mike Nifong. Maybe he should voluntarily step down. He should pray that he can find another job that pays well because he will most certainly be sued. He has ruined the lives of these young men and the former coach of the Duke lacrosse team.

I can tell you that being the mother of a 19-year-old son, I would sue him and the supposed victim for all they are worth and more. He and the supposed victim would pay dearly if they ruined my son’s reputation.

    Why we’re interested

    ——————————————————————————–

I don’t live in North Carolina, but I’ve been keeping up with how the LAX3 have been portrayed in Durham. I’ve heard locals ask, “Why do outsiders find it so interesting?” “Why can’t they leave us alone?”

As an outsider, I’d like to offer a few bits of insight: We don’t know District Attorney Mike Nifong, but really don’t trust him. We believe he was playing to the home crowd against the visiting undergrads and thought he could win an easy one. We see Duke University President Richard Brodhead in the same light as former Harvard University president Lawrence H. Summers who was let go a few years ago.

How so? Brodhead couldn’t defend the LAX3 without offending the entrenched liberal feminists at Duke. And I’m sure my last statement raised the heckles of a number of the Duke faculty. If it did, then they need to work out their latent hostility instead of taking it out on a couple of lacrosse players.

  23. N. Eric Phillips says:

    Nice Guy:

Why am I full of crap? I am the only one here who believes in letting the justice system work as it is supposed to. If there is no evidence, if there is misconduct, etc. etc., this will only work in favor of the defendants. I think it is crap to believe you can sit in your chair, read some articles, and think you are some kind of legal expert.

What you want is mob rule. If the mob believes this, then let them go. Also, there is a lot of racism and classism in this discussion. Letting the process work is the most important part, and a cornerstone of our democracy. If this girl was not black or poor or doing a job society looks down on does not mean she is not entitled to access to the legal system.

Oh, and they WERE out of control. Duke University before this put pressure to get the lacrosse team under control. And yes, you can hire a stripper, but i think most people consider those who do it to be kind of scummy.

And yes, being charged with a crime does have a stigma, but again, this is how the system works. You don’t like it, move to another country. If you respect this country and its Constitution you would accept that the process must continue. i accept that they are innocent until proven guilty.

  24. Sharon says:

Well M Dunn, there will be a news conference from the defense attorneys this afternoon which prolly has to do with two of the lax boys suspensions lifted and they will begin attending Duke U again even though two felonies remain charged against them. One charge is a sexual offense. Oh happy days!

Money and connections win again. They do not have to follow policies like other students.

  25. LillyWhite says:

Now I bet the urinating will start up again. OMG

This time probably the whole university will began to smell like one big urinal.

    Disgusting

  26. Nice Guy says:

Duke University invited the Duke boys back to school as “students in good standing”, with a full tuition scholarship, and invited back to the lacrosse team!!!

Long time over due, but at last President Broadhead grew a few!

  27. Nice Guy says:

    #187.

Your full of crap. That sums you up. There’s no need to humor you.

    nuff said.

  28. letters from Duke says:

    Duke lacked courage

I have to agree with Gordon Grunte’s comments [Letters, Dec. 20] regarding how Duke University’s leadership handled the initial phase of the lacrosse story. My wife and I were upset with the lack of reason and courage exhibited by Duke’s leadership during that period and how they turned on and punished the entire team.
The only words of reason and support for these young men (the true victims) came from some of their fellow students. It was clear that many team members were guilty of bad judgment and poor behavior and that they probably violated team rules and Duke policies.

But regarding the rape charge—to anyone with an open mind and an understanding of our legal system, it should have been obvious that this case lacked merit and smacked of political opportunism. As one who loved the university even before I was fortunate enough to attend it (MBA,1981), I had always admired the tradition of Duke’s leadership and vision, as exhibited by leaders such as the late Terry Sanford.
This great university, its students, faculty, alumni, the Durham community and the great state of North Carolina need better leadership at Duke.

    Resign and apologize

I stated a while back that regardless of any upcoming situations, Mike Nifong would eventually drop this insane case, after of course he secured his vote in November. Now that he has secured his position, along with some serious national heat he’s drawn upon himself, he’s decided to drop the charges. Now he claims it’s only because the woman has now stated she cannot say with certainty that she was raped.

If that was his true reasoning, then why wasn’t it dropped long ago when the former accuser had eight different stories? Point blank, Nifong used the race card among blacks to get his votes. The only real winner in this situation, despite being a single mom bearing yet another child, is the deranged individual herself, who will be receiving free education from no other than Jesse Jackson.

Dropping the case isn’t enough. Nifong should be forced to resign and apologize to the families he’s hurt. I cannot imagine how this man shows his face in public, without feeling like crawling under a rock.

Oh and if he’s reading, he might also want to drop those ridiculous kidnapping and sexual misconduct charges. Lord knows, it’s only going to cause him more embarrassment.

  29. Nice Guy says:

Does anyone wonder why NCCU didn’t invite the hooker back?

  30. Nice Guy says:

The hooker’s body was completely void of any sign of a sexual assault, the innocent boys were devoid of any scratches, bruising, or marks, and the alleged crime scene was completely devoid of DNA that would be expected in a violent gang rape.

It is impossible that a crime scene with three drunk men in a small enclosed room with a fighting and clawing woman being orally, virginally, and anally penetrated not leave any DNA evidence of urine, blood, vaginal fluid, sweat, fecal matter, scat smears, saliva, tears, or semen… especially if condoms were used. How would they take off the condoms during all this chaos without spilling, smearing, or touching the content inside or outside of the condom?

When investigators questioned the hooker after DNA tests on the semen from multiple men found inside her vagina and rectum didn’t match any of the Duke players on the entire lacrosse team, the stripper admitted to having had sex with at least three men around the time of the alleged rape including her boyfriend and two men who drove her to Duke.

The DA Mike Nifong didn’t talk to the prostitute about your wild claims of gang rape, in which she described in great detail, claiming no finders or any other objects were used to penetrate her, yet Nifong did conspire with the DNA lab owner to hide evidence that proves the three victims of this lie are innocent.

I do agree with that because of Rape Shield laws, these boys, who are obviously innocent can still be found guilty. Between 1985 and 1995 35% of innocent men sent to prison for rape, were found innocent through DNA testing, but today’s “victim’s advocacy groups” want to use DNA only to convict anyone, while ignoring all DNA evidence that proves the self-proclaimed “rape-shielded” accuser is lying about being raped.
