NBC 9News – 12/23/06:

The blizzard stranded him in Tennessee and he was told he would be stuck there until after Christmas.

Then he got what he calls his Christmas miracle.

Sergeant Joe Arguello got as far as the Memphis Airport.

“In the military they teach you to adapt and overcome,” said Arguello.

After serving in Afghanistan, then being stationed in Germany, he flew to Detroit and was rerouted to Memphis to try to get a flight into Denver.

However, all flights to Denver were cancelled as two feet of snow fell on Arguello’s hometown.

Stranded in Memphis, with luggage lost and little money, Sergeant Arguello was interviewed by a local TV station.

One viewer took action.

“I was at work yesterday morning and my friend Penny Peeple called me and said, ‘Betty, Denver’s socked in and there’s a soldier at the airport. Been there for two days,'” said Betty Roberson.

Roberson called the TV station who helped her find the stranded Sergeant. She offered to drive him to Colorado where she was going to visit her family.

As soon as Arguello got the news he made a tearful call home.

“I should be home like hopefully by Saturday,” said Arguello over the phone.

And he didn’t see a snowman that looked like virgin Mary? Must be a fraud…

I was in Korea with SGT Arguello. I’m currently serving in Iraq and spent the holidays here.

He hasn’t been home in 3 1/3 years, he desrved to see his family. I’m just glad he made it home in time for Christmas. I’d be grateful if it was me.
